Table - best surf conditions forecast for Fuengirola over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s take a look at what’s on the table for the next couple of weeks along this stretch.
Plain and simple, this is a tough one. For the next 16 days we’ve got a big, empty gap right at the start and it takes a while to get anything going. The first day with any surf at all isn’t until Monday the 13th, and even then it’s barely a ripple. From today through Sunday the 12th, it’s a flat spell – zero swell across the board. Don’t even bother waxing up.
The first glimmer comes Monday morning, July 13th, with a tiny 0.3ft easterly swell at a short period of 5 seconds. The combined energy is just 1 – that’s next to nothing. Winds are light cross-offshore from the NW, so it would be clean, but you’d be fighting for a ride on a lake. That little bump hangs around through Thursday the 16th, with the best chance being Tuesday morning the 14th when that same 0.3ft easterly swell pushes to a 7-second period, combined energy hitting 2. Still, that’s baby surf, not worth paddling out for unless you’re desperate for a float.
Friday the 17th sees a slight shift – a 0.7ft swell from the SSW with a short 4-second period on Friday morning. Combined energy of 2, and a light cross-offshore breeze from NNW keeps things clean. But again, these are knee-high wobbles at best.
Now, we start to see a bit more life from Sunday the 20th onward. Monday the 20th delivers a 2ft easterly swell in the morning, with a 4-second period, but the combined energy only climbs to 9. By the afternoon it’s 2ft at 5 seconds and 16 energy. Tuesday the 21st is probably the best of the whole stretch: 2ft easterly swell at a 6-second period, combined energy of 23. Tuesday morning has glassy conditions, which is rare and good news. That’s the standout window – still small, but the cleanest and most energy we see.
After that, it fades again. The rest of the fortnight drops right back to tiny 0.3ft to 1.0ft easterly windswell with weak energy, and winds stay light and manageable.
Look, for Fuengirola, it’s a beginner-friendly spot that’s fairly consistent at times, but this forecast shows a real lean spell. Nothing here gets over 5ft, so it’s never too big, but it’s also rarely got enough push. The only slight highlight is Tuesday the 21st morning, with that glassy 2ft easterly swell. If you’ve got a longboard and patience, that’s your moment. Water temperature is sitting at 77°F – that’s much warmer than normal for the time of year, with a 5° anomaly. That’s notably sticky and warm for July.
No standouts to shout about. It’s a quiet run. Keep an eye on the charts, but for now, it’s a waiting game.
Rusty.
