Alright, listen up. Rusty here, and I'm looking at Fuengirola. It's a bummer, but we're staring down a long, flat spell.
Honestly, for the entire 16-day outlook, there's just nothing doing. A massive gap of decent surf stretches right across the whole period. The only spot we've got to talk about is Fuengirola itself, a break that's good for beginners and fairly consistent when there's swell, but right now, there ain't any.
The water is a balmy 74°, which is a good 4° warmer than what's normal for this time of year. Real bathtub stuff, but you need waves to enjoy it.
Let's run through it. From this Saturday, July 4th, all the way through to Sunday, July 19th, every single session is a dud. "Poor surf conditions," plain and simple. The biggest we see is a tiny 3ft on the morning of the 4th and 5th, coming out of the ESE with a weak period of 6 seconds and next to no energy. The combined energy is a pathetic 46, so there's zero push.
The wind is light on those mornings, a cross-shore out of the NNE at 6 mph, so the surface would be okay. But the waves are so small and gutless, you'd just be floating.
After that Monday the 6th, it drops off a cliff. We get days and days of flatness, with zeros across the board for swell height and energy. We do get a glassy morning on the 9th and some clean offshore wind in the second week, starting around the 10th of July, with breezes from the W and SW. But it doesn't matter one bit because there's no swell to clean up.
By the 13th, we're looking at ankle-biters of 0.7ft at best. It's completely flat up to and including the 19th. There's no standout session here, not even a runner-up. Any surfer looking for a real wave is wasting their time. For a kite surfer, with that wind in the second week, it might be more interesting than trying to paddle.
It's a full-on flat spell, folks. Cross your fingers the forecasts change.
