Table - best surf conditions forecast for Cudmirrah Reef over the next 16 days.
Alright, surfers, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cooking for Cudmirrah Reef over the next couple of weeks.
Right off the bat, we’ve got a flat spell. Monday the 13th and Tuesday the 14th are showing tiny, weak swell with poor surf conditions. Not worth paddling out for. The water is sitting at 64°, which is pretty normal for this time of year.
The real action, the standout of the whole outlook, is Wednesday morning, July 15th. We’re looking at a clean 7ft south swell, with the wind going glassy. That’s a serious pulse of energy, with the combined energy hitting a massive 1579. This is a solid, powerful groundswell, and it’s going to be a proper session. But listen, 7ft at a reef break, and it’s a very consistent spot, so this is strictly for experienced surfers. Beginners need to stay on the beach for this one.
The rest of the week is a bit of a mixed bag. Wednesday afternoon and Thursday get a bit messy with onshore and cross-shore winds, and the swell drops off. The wave energy takes a hit, too. Friday and Saturday are small, with poor conditions, though Saturday morning (July 18th) is glassy but just tiny.
We get a bit of a pulse back on Sunday, July 19th, with a clean 3ft easterly swell, and a lighter north wind. The energy is moderate at 219. It’s surfable, but nothing special.
The next best moment comes on Monday, July 20th. The morning is clean with a 4ft ENE swell, but the afternoon is where it’s at. The wind goes offshore, and the swell bumps up to 5ft, with the energy climbing to 482. That’s a solid afternoon session for those who can handle it.
Tuesday, July 21st, starts off with a glassy 4ft ENE swell, which is a nice morning option. But after that, the forecast gets smaller and more inconsistent. The end of the month looks pretty ordinary, with very small swell and only a few clean but tiny windows. There’s a long gap of poor to small surf from the 22nd through to the 28th, so don’t get your hopes up for that second week. It’s not looking good.
So, to wrap it up: Wednesday morning, July 15th, is the absolute standout. Get on it if you’re an experienced surfer. Monday afternoon, July 20th, is a solid backup. The rest of the time, you’re mostly waiting for a bump that doesn’t come.
Rusty.
