The Lowdown

Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s talk about Coneeleys Reef over the next couple of weeks. This spot’s a reef break, good for beginners but it’s inconsistent – it doesn’t fire every day. The water’s sitting at 63.7°F, which is pretty normal for this time of year, so no surprises there.

We’ve got a bit of a mixed bag, but there’s one session that really stands out. Let’s walk through it in order.

Monday 20 July starts off with a clean morning – 5ft swell from the ENE, period 11 seconds, light cross-off breeze. The combined energy is moderate (700). It’s a decent start, but the afternoon gets messy with cross-shore wind and a drop in quality.

Tuesday 21 July dawns glassy with a 4ft ENE swell, period 10 seconds. The energy drops to 341, but the calm conditions make it clean. The afternoon turns cross-shore, so morning is the pick.

Wednesday 22 July sees offshore winds all day, but the swell is only 3ft from the ENE, period 10 seconds. Energy is low (177). It’s surfable but ordinary.

Thursday 23 July morning is clean but tiny – 2.3ft from the ENE, energy 84. By afternoon a southerly wind and rain come in, poor conditions.

Friday 24 July morning brings a nice jump: 6ft from the SSW, period 8 seconds, offshore wind, energy 654. That’s a solid pulse, clean and fun. The afternoon drops to 4ft but longer period (11s) from the south, still cross-off – marginal tide maybe.

Saturday 25 July morning is offshore with 3.6ft south swell, period 11 seconds, energy 368. Afternoon turns glass

Short Range Forecast

Mostly dry. Very mild (max 19°C on Wed morning, min 11°C on Mon night). Wind will be generally light.

Days 4-6 Weather Summary

Light rain (total 2mm), mostly falling on Thu afternoon. Very mild (max 18°C on Sat morning, min 7°C on Thu night). Wind will be generally light.
