The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's get into it for the 16-day window starting now. The good news is there are some waves on the table, but we've got to wade through some pretty flat spells first.
The first real chance of a surf comes in on Thursday, July 30th. The morning will see a tiny 3ft S swell at 7 seconds, but it's clean with a gentle offshore. The combined energy is weak (138). It's surfable, but just barely. It won't be a standout.
The pick of the entire forecast, and the session I'm circling, is Friday, August 1st. The morning is glassy. Absolutely dead flat, no wind. We're looking at a 4ft SSE swell with a 10-second period. The energy is moderate (286) and it's from a clean direction for this spot. That's the one to get out for. Saturday morning, August 2nd, is also glassy with a similar 4ft SSE swell, but the period drops to 9 seconds. It's still a good option, but Friday morning is the cleaner one.
After that, the surf goes a bit weird. We get a period of cleaner, but smaller, swell from the SE. Nothing special. Then, the real interest picks up again on Thursday, August 6th. The morning brings a solid 6ft SE swell at 9 seconds, with a light cross-offshore wind. The combined energy is strong (582). That's a powerful wave, but at 6ft it's starting to get a bit solid for a beginner. The following morning, Friday, August 7th, is glassy with a 5ft ESE swell at 9 seconds. That's a beautiful, clean morning session.
The last real standout is the morning of Saturday, August 9th. It's dead glassy again, with a long-period 3ft SSE swell. The period is 12 seconds, which is a groundswell. The combined energy is moderate (455). This is a classic clean, lining-up day for Congo Beach - The Suck.
The water temperature is sitting at 64°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year.
Rusty out.
