Table - best surf conditions forecast for Moruya Rivermouth over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s coming down the line for the next couple of weeks.
Honestly, the outlook is pretty flat. We’ve got a long stretch of small, weak swells, and most of the time the quality just isn’t there for a proper paddle. The first real chance to wet a line doesn’t come until Saturday the 11th, and even then it’s a small window.
The pick of the period is Saturday morning, July 11th, at Moruya Rivermouth (river) . We’re looking at a clean 2ft easterly swell with a nice long 12-second period. The wind is light, cross-offshore from the northwest, so the surface should be glassy. The water temp is sitting at 63°, which is about normal for this time of year, so no surprises there. The combined energy is moderate (215), so there’s a bit of push behind it. It’s a beginner-friendly spot, so it’s ideal for a fun session without the crowd pressure. The swell direction from the southeast is bang on what this rivermouth likes to see.
That Saturday afternoon is a bit of a letdown, with the wind picking up to 12 mph, making it feel more marginal. The rest of the week is a write-off – tiny surf, often under 2ft, and mostly poor conditions. We do get a few glassy moments on Wednesday the 15th morning and Thursday the 16th morning, but the swell is just too small and weak to get excited about. The energy is less than 100 on those days.
After that, it’s a long, drawn-out run of nothing. From the 18th right through to the 25th, the swell barely registers. There’s a brief moment on Tuesday the 21st morning with glassy conditions and a tiny 1ft swell, but it’s not enough to surf. The 22nd has some offshore wind but again, the swell is too small. The entire second week is a dud for this spot.
So, to sum it up: if you’re keen, make the most of Saturday morning, July 11th. That’s the only real standout. After that, it’s flat and quiet. The forecasts can change, but for now, it’s a waiting game.
Rusty.
