Table - best surf conditions forecast for Cibratel over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here, checkin’ in with the local skinny from Cibratel. This is a classic exposed beach setup that’s about to give us a proper run of fun-size swell with a few standout windows if you pick your moments.
We’re starting off slow. The first couple of days are pretty grim with poor surf conditions and light cross-shore or onshore breezes making a mess of things. Don’t bother paddling out Sunday the 12th or Monday the 13th – it’s chop city and the energy is all over the place. By Tuesday the 14th, things start to turn. We’ve got a glassy morning with a clean 4 ft swell from the SSE, period around 10 seconds, and the combined energy reading a modest 240. The water temp is sitting about average for this time of year, so nothin’ shocking when you dip in.
The standout window is shaping up for Thursday the 16th and Friday the 17th. Thursday morning is dead calm – glassy as a mirror – with a 4 ft SE swell hitting 468 on the combined energy scale. That’s moderate juice, but with clean conditions and a 11-second period, it’ll be the best shape we’ve seen. Cibratel is a beginner-plus spot and very consistent, but this is perfect for intermediates to have a ball. Friday morning takes it up a notch: 4 ft from the SE, period holding at 11 seconds, but the combined energy jumps to 689 – the strongest reading of the whole run. With a light offshore from the north, that’s gonna be clean, punchy, and lined up. Crowds are often around here, so get out early if you want it to yourself.
After that, the swell drops off fast over the weekend and into the following week. Saturday the 18th still has a small offshore window in the morning, but the energy plummets to 134 and the swell is down to 3 ft. By Sunday the 19th, it’s tiny – 2 ft with period dropping to 9 seconds. There’s a long gap of weak surf from the 18th through the 23rd, with most afternoons being unrideable. You’ll see days of 2 ft to 2 ft, short period, and cross-on breezes. Not worth gettin’ wet for.
The far end of the outlook shows a pulse of longer-period groundswell peeking in. On July 26th, Sunday morning is glassy with a 3 ft SSE swell, period 12 seconds, and energy hitting 307. That’s a clean little bump but small. The real teaser is late on the 26th into the 27th: a 15-second period shows up in the afternoon on the 26th, and the 27th Monday morning serves up 3 ft from the SSE with a 13-second period and glassy winds, energy at 208. That’s proper groundswell, and at a beach break like this, it could be a bit straight and closed out, but if you’re flexible, you might find a wedge. There’s a small 1.0 ft pulse on July 24th with a 14-second period, but it’s so tiny it’s more of a novelty.
Overall, the best bet is Friday the 17th morning: 4 ft SE with offshore winds, long 11-second period, and solid energy. Thursday the 16th morning is a close second for the glass. Everything else in the first week is either small or windy, and the second week is mostly quiet with only the far Sunday and Monday offering a flicker of hope.
Cibratel is a consistent, exposed spot, so when it’s on, it’s on. When it’s flat, it’s flat. This run has a clear peak mid-week and then fades. Stay on it.
Rusty.
