Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, let’s break it down. The first part of the forecast is a bit slow, but it builds into a few good windows.
Cibratel is the only spot. Monday afternoon, 6th July, you’ve got a weak 3ft SSE swell with a 10-second period, and a light cross-onshore breeze from the ESE. It’s not much, just a marginal surf day. The combined swell energy is moderate at 223, but it’s not enough to get stoked about. Water temp is 69°, which is about average for this time of year.
Tuesday morning, 7th July, drops to 2ft from the SE, but the wind goes offshore from the west, making it clean. The energy is weak at 120. Still, a clean waist-high wave is better than nothing. The afternoon goes cross-on and drops more.
Wednesday morning, 8th July, is the first real standout. Glassy, no wind, with a 3ft SE swell, 9-second period. The energy is moderate at 149. It’s small, but glassy and clean. That’s your best early call.
Thursday morning, 9th July, is another good one. Glassy again, 2ft from the south, but the period jumps to 11 seconds, and the energy climbs to 226. That’s a proper little groundswell pulse. Clean, offshore wind, and the longer period gives it some shape. This is the pick of the first week.
Saturday morning, 11th July, is a standout. Glassy, 3ft from the SE, but the period is 13 seconds, and the energy hits 259. That’s a nice, long-period groundswell, clean as a whistle. For a point break or reef, this would be lovely, but at a beach break, the long period might make it a bit straight. Still, for the size and wind, it’s a winner.
Then we get a little gap. Sunday afternoon, 12th July, is okay but nothing special. The real next standout is Monday morning, 13th July. The swell jumps to 5ft from the SSE, 11-second period, and the energy is massive at 772. That’s strong wave energy. However, the wind is cross-shore from the SSW at 10 mph, creating a bit of chop. It’s not perfect, but for experienced surfers, that’s a solid session. For beginners, 5ft is pushing it.
Tuesday morning, 14th July, is glassy again with a 3ft SSE swell, 9-second period, energy at 182. Clean but not as powerful.
Looking further out, Thursday morning, 16th July, drops right off. 2ft from the ESE, 7-second period, energy only 68. Weak and short-period. The afternoons are mostly poor.
The second week picks up a bit on Monday, 20th July. Morning is glassy, 3ft from the SSE, 8-second period, energy 155. It’s okay but short period. The next morning, Tuesday, 21st July, is your standout for the second week. Glassy, 4ft from the SE, 10-second period, and the energy is strong at 377. That’s a clean, solid chest-to-head-high wave. The afternoon goes to crap with a strong cross-shore wind, so hit it early.
All in all, the best windows are Thursday morning, 9th July, Saturday morning, 11th July, and Tuesday morning, 21st July. The 21st is the biggest and cleanest of the whole run, but it’s over a week away, so treat it as a promising one.
