Alright, Rusty here again, but in feet and knots for you. Let’s break down Cibratel.
We’ve got a pretty quiet stretch ahead. Water temp is about average for the year, nothing strange. Lots of small, clean windows but it’s a waiting game. The one day that really stands out is the morning of Friday, July 17th.
Monday, July 6th starts us off right. Morning glass-off at Cibratel with a clean 3ft SSE swell, 11-second period. Combined energy is moderate (238). That calm wind means it’s going to be smooth. Best bet for the day. Afternoon goes a bit cross-onshore.
Tuesday, July 7th is smaller. 2ft from the SE, 10 seconds, with a cross-offshore wind keeping it tidy. Energy is weak (125). Surfable but nothing special.
Wednesday, July 8th – another glassy morning. 2ft SE swell, 9-second period, calm. Weak energy (137). A log would be fun.
Thursday, July 9th – same routine. Morning glass with 2ft from the south.
This pattern of small, glassy mornings holds through the 10th, 11th, and 12th. The Saturday morning (11th) is the best of that batch: 2ft SE swell, 11-second period, energy back to 234 (moderate).
Monday, July 13th gets a bit windy and messy. Southerly winds at 12-13 mph, making things choppy. The swell energy is high (over 400), but the wind ruins it. That afternoon looks more like a kite session.
More small glassy mornings on the 15th and 16th.
Now, Friday morning, July 17th. This is the big one. Swell jumps to 6ft from the south, short 8-second period. Combined energy is a strong 760! That’s a lot of power. And with a light northerly breeze going glassy, it’s going to be clean and punchy. At 6ft, this is for experienced surfers only. The south swell lines up perfectly with the break. Morning only, as the afternoon wind gets nasty.
After that, Saturday, July 18th morning has a nice 3ft SSE swell with a 13-second period and moderate energy (299). Good if you missed the Friday window.
The 19th, 20th, and 21st are back to small, clean mornings. Long period swells (14-15 seconds) but very little energy. You’ll get a few slow, clean lines on a longboard.
The real standout is that Friday 17th morning. Don’t be late.
Rusty.
