Table - best surf conditions forecast for Cibratel over the next 16 days.
G’day, I’m Rusty, and I’ve been reading the charts for this stretch. Look, I’ll be straight with you – the first few days are a real grind. This is Cibratel, and Thursday and Friday mornings are glassy but only pushing 0.5m of weak, short-period S/SE swell – energy is barely 118. You can paddle out and get a few, but you’re working hard for waist-high slop. Then the afternoons get onshore and it’s just ugly.
The first real highlight lands on Saturday, July 11th – Saturday morning. Swell jumps to 0.8m from the SE with a 13-second period, energy up to 251 (moderate). Wind goes glassy from the NNW. It’s the cleanest window in the first week, and the swell direction locks right into the SE optimum for this exposed stretch. Expect waist-high, clean lines. With a period over 11 seconds, that’s groundswell, so the sets will be more powerful and spaced out – easier to get out the back. Cibratel is very consistent and often has a crowd, so don’t expect to have it to yourself.
Next up is Thursday, July 17th – Thursday morning – 0.8m of ESE swell, energy at 136, and glassy offshore from the N. Another clean session with waist-high waves. The afternoon even holds glassy from the SE.
After that, it fades. From around Sunday, July 20th, the swell drops to 0.5-0.7m and energy falls from 100 down to just 22 by the end. Mornings are glassy, so you could get a knee-high slide, but it’s not worth the drive. There’s a quiet stretch of about four days with nothing to get excited about.
Bottom line: the standout is Saturday July 11th morning – clean, glassy, waist-high SE groundswell with proper shape. The backup is Thursday July 17th morning – similar size, a bit less energy. That’s it.
Water temp is average for the time of year – nothing unusual.
Second week is a snoozer.
Rusty.
