Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, Rusty here. Let's take a look at what Cibratel has on offer over the next couple of weeks.
The coming weeks are a mixed bag, but there are some real gems if you're patient. The surf starts off pretty small, but there's a decent run of cleaner conditions and building swell that peaks around the middle of the forecast.
We kick off Thursday afternoon (July 2nd) with tiny 1ft ESE swell, but the wind is glassy. It's just weak, with the combined wave energy only sitting at 45, so don't expect much to ride. Friday is a write-off with poor conditions, and Saturday (July 4th) is marginal. The swell picks up a bit to 3ft from the SSE with a 10-second period, but the onshore wind ruins it.
The real highlight starts on Sunday morning, July 5th. Conditions turn glassy, with a clean 3ft SSE swell (period 12 seconds). The combined wave energy builds to 301 (moderate). This continues through Monday morning, July 6th, with another glassy session and a 3ft SSE swell. For the size, the energy is solid at 231. The water temp is 68°, which is bang on average for this time of year. Keep in mind, Cibratel is an exposed beach setup that works best with a SE swell, and the direction is almost spot on. The crowds can be often here, so expect company if the sun’s out.
We then get a bit of a lull mid-week, with smaller surf and mixed wind, but don't write it off yet. The big news is the standout window kicking off on Wednesday, July 15th. Tuesday the 14th brings a jump to 4ft SSE swell with a 12-second period, but the wind is messy. It's Wednesday morning, July 15th, that delivers. We have a clear sky, dead calm, glassy conditions, and a solid 4ft SSE swell with a 12-second period. The combined wave energy jumps to 403 (moderate to strong). That's the best call of the period. For the intermediate and above crew, this is your session. It's getting punchy for beginners at 4ft, but for the experienced, the power is there.
The run continues into Thursday morning, July 16th, with another glassy morning, 4ft SE swell (13 seconds), and energy of 394. Friday, July 17th, repeats the pattern with flat calm conditions and a clean 3ft SE swell (13 seconds). The energy is still pumping at 361.
So for the best, your standout is Wednesday morning, July 15th, with the cleanest conditions and the biggest, most powerful swell. Thursday and Friday mornings that follow are also excellent, nearly as good, with that long 13-second period offering plenty of push and shape.
All in all, there's a solid 3 to 4 day window of proper clean surf. Make the most of it.
Rusty.
