Table - best surf conditions forecast for Cibratel over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s get into it. The outlook starts with a few days of so-so surf, but there’s a couple of real gems coming up if you’re patient.
Cibratel is on the table from Saturday morning, July 11th. We’re looking at a clean 3 ft SE swell, with a solid 13-second period behind it. That’s a proper groundswell, and with glassy conditions and a NNE breeze at just 3 mph, the morning session is going to be smooth. The combined energy is moderate at 251, so there’s enough push to get you into something fun. It’s a beginner-plus spot and very consistent, so it’s a good bet for a learner or someone wanting a mellow paddle. The water temp is about normal for this time of year, nothing wild.
Saturday afternoon stays glassy, but the wind swings SE – still light, still clean. Same 3 ft SE swell, still a nice 13-second pulse. Expect good surf again.
Sunday morning, July 12th, sees a slight drop to 2 ft SE, but the period is still 12 seconds. The wind is light W at 3 mph, giving us a cross-off breeze. The combined energy drops to 159, but conditions are clean. It’s surfable, but nothing special.
Sunday afternoon turns ugly. A risk of thunderstorms, a SSW wind at 9 mph blowing cross-on, and the energy drops to 120. The surf is poor. Skip it.
Monday morning, July 13th, brings a bigger 6 ft S swell, but it’s short period at 9 seconds and cross-on wind from the south at 6 mph. The combined energy jumps to 939 – that’s a lot of power – but the quality is marginal. It’s gonna be a bit of a mess. For the experienced crew only, and even then, it’s not the best.
Tuesday morning, July 14th, is a nice little window. Glassy conditions, WSW wind at 3 mph, and a 4 ft SSE swell with an 11-second period. The combined energy is moderate at 403. Expect good surf. The afternoon gets a bit choppy as the wind swings onshore, but the morning is worth it.
Wednesday morning, July 15th, is another glassy session. WNW wind at 3 mph, 4 ft SE swell, 11-second period, energy at 347. Good surf again. The afternoon turns onshore, so get out early.
Thursday morning, July 16th, is a standout. Absolute calm, 0 wind, glassy as a mirror. A 4 ft SE swell with a 12-second period, energy at 482. This is going to be clean, lined up, and fun. Best morning of the first week.
Friday morning, July 17th, is also glassy. Light N wind, 4 ft SE swell, 12-second period, energy at 320. Good surf again.
After that, the surf drops off for a stretch. From Saturday, July 18th, through to Thursday, July 23rd, the swell gets small – under 3 ft – and the quality fades. There’s a few mornings with clean conditions, but the waves are weak. The 20th and 21st have some glassy moments but the swell is tiny. It’s a real lull, almost a week of not much.
Then, on Friday morning, July 24th, things pick up again. Calm wind, glassy, and a 4 ft SSE swell with a 9-second period. The energy is 228. Expect good surf. The afternoon gets a bit of cross-on wind, but the morning is solid.
Now, the real standout is Saturday, July 25th. This is the one to circle. A 4 ft SSE swell, but with a 13-second period – that’s a beautiful long-period groundswell. The combined energy hits 510, which is strong. The wind is WSW at 3 mph, glassy, and the morning is forecast for “very good surf conditions.” This is the best session of the whole 16 days. The swell direction (SSE) is right on the optimum for Cibratel, so it’s going to wrap in nicely. The afternoon gets a bit of cross-on chop, but Saturday morning is the absolute winner.
Sunday morning, July 26th, is a nice glassy cleanup with 2 ft SE, 12-second period, and energy at 216. Good surf, but a step down from Saturday.
So, the best bet is Saturday morning, July 25th, at Cibratel. Get on it early. The glassy conditions and that long-period swell are going to make it special.
Rusty.
