Table - best surf conditions forecast for Cibratel over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s see what Cibratel’s got cooking over the next 16 days.
Truth is, the first week is pretty bleak. There’s a long stretch of flat, weak surf right from the start – almost nothing worth paddling out for. Swell is tiny, mostly under 3 ft, with short periods around 8 to 9 seconds, so the waves are just small and shapeless. The combined energy stays low, often in the 50 to 86 range (weak), so it’s more like a lake than a surf break.
The one exception is Sunday morning, July 13. We get a jump to 6 ft from the south, with a short period of 9 seconds and a combined energy of 775 (moderate). But the wind is cross-on, so it’s gonna be choppy and tough to enjoy. The water temp is about average for the time of year, nothing unusual.
A few mornings are glassy – like Saturday, July 11, with a dead calm wind, 3 ft from the SE, and a period of 13 seconds. That longer period gives the waves some shape, and the energy hits 251 (moderate). But it’s still small, and by afternoon the wind shifts cross-on, so that window is tight.
The real standout, the one day to set your alarm for, is Saturday, July 25. That morning, Cibratel gets a solid 8 ft swell from the SSE, period of 10 seconds, and a combined energy of 1416 (strong). The wind is glassy, offshore from the ENE, so the waves will be clean and powerful. At 8 ft, this is strictly for experienced surfers – too big for beginners. Crowds are often an issue, so expect a lineup. The swell direction (SSE) matches the optimum SE perfectly, so the break will be firing.
Other than that, most days are just small, weak, and ordinary. The second week has a few glassy mornings with tiny waves (2 ft to 3 ft), but nothing to write home about. The energy stays low, often under 100 (weak). The blank runs are long – really no good surf from the 10th through to the 24th, aside from that one bumpy Sunday.
So, bottom line: if you’re an experienced surfer, aim for Saturday, July 25. The rest is a waiting game.
Rusty.
