Table - best surf conditions forecast for Barra do Sul over the next 16 days.
Right then, let’s break down what’s happening at Barra do Sul. The next couple of weeks have some clean moments early on, but the back half goes pretty quiet, so you’ll want to be on it when the wind plays nice.
We start Saturday morning, 11 July, with a small, long-period ESE groundswell around 3 ft and a 13-second interval. Wind is light cross-shore from the north, so there’s a little texture. The real winner is Saturday afternoon – the wind goes glassy from the ESE, the same 3 ft swell with 13 seconds, and the combined energy is moderate at 381. Clean, small, perfect for a longboard or a funboard.
Sunday morning, 12 July, keeps it clean with glassy conditions from the west and 3 ft of ESE swell at 12 seconds. Energy is moderate at 317. That’s another good session for the beginner-friendly break. Sunday afternoon turns choppy with a cross-onshore wind from the SE, so the window shuts down.
Monday 13 July is mostly a loss with cross-shore and cross-onshore winds, and by afternoon the swell jumps to 6 ft but it’s short-period (9 seconds) and the energy hits 686 – that’s moderate-strong. But with onshore wind and a short, bumpy period, it’s more of a mess than a surf. Tuesday 14 July mornings are where you want to be: offshore wind from the WSW, 5 ft of SE swell at 11 seconds, clean conditions, moderate energy at 468. Solid Tuesday morning session.
Wednesday 15 July morning is clean again with light offshore wind from the west, 5 ft ESE swell at 11 seconds. Another tidy session. Thursday 16 July morning is the pick of the first week – 5 ft of ESE swell, 12-second period, clean offshore wind from the west, energy at 557. That’s a real standout. Water temp is about average for this time of year, nothing unusual.
After Thursday, the swells drop back to around 3 ft or less, and while there are some glassy mornings (Friday 17 July morning, Saturday 18 July morning, Sunday 19 July morning, Monday 20 July morning), the period drops to 7 or 8 seconds and the energy falls below 200. Those are weak, short-period leftovers – surfable but ordinary. The best of that stretch is Friday 17 July morning with 3 ft ESE swell at 12 seconds and glassy conditions, energy at 318. Still worth a look.
From Monday 20 July afternoon through Thursday 23 July, conditions turn mostly poor with cross-onshore and onshore winds, small waves, and low energy. There’s a gap of a few days here where it’s just not worth it.
We do see a bit of life again on Saturday 25 July morning: 3 ft of SE swell at 13 seconds, offshore wind from the west, clean conditions, energy at 338. That’s the best looking session in the second week. Sunday 26 July morning also has 4 ft of short-period E swell (7 seconds) but with clean cross-offshore wind from the NW and energy at 267. It’s small and short-period, but clean enough for a fun session.
The standout is Thursday 16 July morning – clean, offshore, 5 ft of long-period ESE groundswell, and solid energy. Saturday afternoon the 11th is also a gem. The second week is mostly small and inconsistent, but Saturday the 25th morning offers a clean window with some renewed SE swell.
