Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s on the cards for this stretch of coast.
Honestly, the outlook is a tough one for the next two weeks. There’s plenty of swell around in the first few days, but the wind just won’t play ball, leaving things messy and pretty much unsurfable. We’re looking at a real lull from around the 7th of July onwards, with only a handful of small windows that might be worth a look. This is going to be a test of patience.
The first real chance we get for anything decent kicks off on Tuesday, July 7th. Early morning at Aleluia looks promising, with the wind going flat calm. The swell is tiny though, only 3 ft from the east, so you’ll be on a longboard or a foiler. The water temp is around 80°, which is about average for this time of year. Don’t expect much energy, the combined swell energy is only 153, so it’s weak.
Wednesday, July 8th morning shapes up as a better option. We get a clean 2 ft southerly swell with a nice 12-second period, and the wind is a light cross-offshore from the north. This should give you some clean, workable lines, but the energy is still moderate at 238. It’s the best we’ve seen in a while.
The standout window, if you can call it that, is shaping up for the morning of Thursday, July 9th and then Friday, July 10th. On Thursday morning, it’s a clean 4 ft south-southeast groundswell with a 12-second interval. Wind is light and cross-offshore again, so it’ll be clean. The combined energy is up to 367, which is moderate but the most we’ve seen for a while. Then Friday morning, the 10th, sees the wind go flat glassy with a 3 ft south-southeast swell. That’s a real chance for some smooth, clean waves to yourself. Crowds are listed as *sometimes* present here, so you might find a few others out but it won’t be a zoo.
Beyond that, the second week is a bit of a write-off. There’s a sniff of something on the morning of Thursday, July 16th with a 3 ft south-southeast swell and a good 13-second period, but the wind is onshore from the east, so conditions are unknown and likely marginal. The energy is moderate at 285, but I’d keep expectations low.
For the rest of the period, expect small, messy, or onshore conditions. This is a patch where you’ll need to pick your moments or maybe take a break.
Rusty.
