Table - best surf conditions forecast for Aleluia over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's cookin' for Aleluia over the next couple of weeks.
Honestly, it’s a bit of a grim outlook for the next 16 days. The whole period is plagued by poor surf conditions, with either onshore or cross-onshore winds and messy, lumpy waves. There’s not a single standout session that I’d get too excited about, but let’s break it down day by day.
The first real possibility to even talk about is on Saturday, July 11th. The morning shows some promise with a 4ft swell from the SE, a period of 13 seconds, and light cross-shore winds. The combined energy is a moderate 557, so there’s some push there. The water temp is around 79°F, which is about average for this time of year. It would be marginal, but if you're desperate, it's the closest to clean we get all week. The afternoon on the 11th turns choppy again.
Sunday the 12th is much the same, a little 4ft SE swell with light cross winds in the morning, but it’s still only a 1 out of 10.
The rest of that first week, from the 13th to the 17th, is a write-off. We’ve got wind either onshore or cross-onshore, and the swell is small and weak, with a brief spike on the 15th and 16th where the swell jumps to 7ft but with a short, weak period of 6-8 seconds and howling cross-onshore wind. The combined energy on the 15th morning is a moderate 481, but the quality is terrible.
After a brief lull, things get a bit more interesting in the second week, but don’t get your hopes up. On the 19th and 20th, we see some bigger swell, with 7ft to 7ft from the ESE, but the wind is still directly onshore. The combined energy on the 19th afternoon hits a strong 893, and by Tuesday the 21st afternoon it pumps up to a very strong 1133 with a 8ft ESE swell. That’s a lot of water moving. However, the wind is cross-onshore and the period is a middling 9 seconds. This is big, powerful, and messy – definitely for experts only, if anyone. The 20th and 21st see the cleanest winds of the second week, but the swell direction is from the ESE, while Aleluia’s optimum is from the S, so it’s not breaking with its best shape. The crowds at Aleluia are “sometimes” an issue, but given the conditions, it might be empty.
The last few days from the 22nd to the 24th just fade out with moderate, onshore swell.
In short, it's a long blank run. There are no real standouts. The only remotely rideable mornings are the 11th and 12th, and even then it's marginal. After that, the setup looks more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing with that strong onshore flow and building swell.
Stay patient, folks.
Rusty.
