Table - best surf conditions forecast for St Agnes over the next 16 days.

Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s get straight into it. The outlook for St Agnes over the next couple of weeks is pretty grim, I’m sorry to say. There’s a long stretch of flat, messy, or blown-out conditions ahead. The first recommendation for a surf doesn’t pop up until the end of the window, so we’ve got a big gap of over two weeks with nothing worth paddling for.

From Thursday the 9th right through to Wednesday the 23rd of July, it’s a real struggle. Swell heights are tiny, mostly between 1ft and 3ft, with poor wind directions and weak energy readings that barely scrape into the low hundreds. The combined energy is weak, often well under 100 (e.g., 131 on Thursday, 60 on Saturday) – it’s just not doing anything. Winds are cross, cross-on, or even onshore for much of this period, churning up what little ripple there is. Only a few mornings have clean conditions, but with the swell size so small, there’s nothing to ride.

Now, the one standout – and it’s a long way off – is Thursday the 24th of July. That morning, St Agnes shows a lift. We’re looking at a 6ft swell from the WNW with a short period of 6 seconds, so it’s a windswell, not a groundswell. The combined energy climbs to 259 (moderate wave energy), and crucially, the wind goes glassy – that’s a major positive. The water temp is about average for the time of year, not unusual. For a spot that’s fairly exposed to swell and consistent, this could clean up nicely. But that short period means it might wall up and close out, and it’s not one for beginners at that size. It’s a long-range call, so less certain, but if it holds, it’s the only real chance in the whole forecast. Crowds are often a factor here, so expect company.

So, there you go. A whole lot of nothing until the 24th, then a promising window of glassy 6ft WNW swell. Keep your fingers crossed, but don’t hold your breath.

Rusty.
