Table - best surf conditions forecast for St Agnes over the next 16 days.
Alright, folks, Rusty here. Let's chew the fat on this forecast for St Agnes.
Well, I gotta be straight with you – it's a bit of a rough stretch ahead. The next 16 days are looking pretty flat and messy for the most part. We've got a real gap here with no surf worth talking about for the first few days, and honestly, the pattern doesn't really set up for anything classic. There's a couple of pulses of energy, but the wind's just not playing ball. It's a bit of a lean spell, but that's how it goes sometimes.
The only real window of hope is a bit of a push around the 18th and 19th of July. The combined energy jumps up noticeably to 415 (strong) on the Saturday morning, with a swell of 5 ft from the W. That's a decent size, a bit too much for beginners, but the real problem is the wind. It's been blowing from the NW onshore, so those waves are gonna be a mess. By Sunday afternoon, it's a fresh cross-onshore with lumpy conditions, and the energy is still high at 214 (moderate). The period is short, around 7-8 seconds, so it's gonna be a bit of a crumbly, wind-affected mess. It's a shame, because there's some energy there, but the quality just isn't there for a good paddle session.
The rest of the period is a write-off. We see a bit of a bump on the 24th with 3 ft from the WNW and a period of 11 seconds, and the energy is moderate at 242. But the wind is cross-shore or cross-onshore, and the forecast says "poor surf conditions." So, it's a tease.
Honestly, there's nothing here that gets me fired up. The water temp is about 62° which is a bit warmer than normal for this time of year, but that's about the only highlight. The sets are gonna be weak, the wind is gonna be in the way, and the quality is just not there. This stretch is looking more like a time to get the kite gear out if the wind picks up, 'cause for a paddle surfer, it's a tough watch.
Rusty.
