Alright, folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ for this stretch of coast.

Right off the bat, we’re looking at a pretty quiet start. The first few days have some swell in the water, but it’s messy. Saturday the 11th kicks off with a weak 3 ft SSW groundswell, long period at 15 seconds, but it’s getting chopped up by a cross-onshore wind. The water temp is sitting at 58°, which is pretty normal for this time of year. The energy is barely there, reading 426 (moderate energy), and it’s a bit of a frustrating paddle out for nothing special.

Sunday the 12th is more of the same – 3 ft SSW swell, light cross-onshore breeze, and the surf is just too poor to get excited about. Monday the 13th sees a shift to a 5 ft NW swell, with a shorter period of 9 seconds and cleaner conditions with offshore winds in the morning. It’s still nothing to write home about though, and the scores are pretty low. Tuesday through Thursday the 16th just get worse – the swell builds, but it’s all short-period windswell and the wind gets stronger, making it a real mess. By Thursday the 16th, we’re looking at a 6 ft to 8 ft NW swell with 8-second period and a stiff 16 mph onshore wind. That’s not paddle surfing; that’s a kite session, if anything. The energy is strong (1009 on Thursday afternoon), but the quality is zero.

The whole first week is a write-off, honestly. There’s a gap of several days with absolutely no quality surf on offer.

Now, for the second week, things start to look a bit more promising, but it’s still a patience game. Friday the 18th has a long-period 3 ft WNW groundswell with 16 seconds, and offshore winds in the morning. The energy is strong, reading 847, but it’s marginal due to tide. That long period with a beach break setup can be a bit tricky – it might close out straight. Still, it’s the first real glimmer of hope.

The standout in this whole 16-day window has to be the morning of Tuesday the 21st. We’ve got a 3 ft SSW groundswell coming in with a very long 17-second period, and the wind is offshore and glassy-light from the WNW at just 3 mph. The energy is strong at 817 (moderate to strong). This is the cleanest, most promising window of the whole forecast. The wave direction is matching the optimum swell direction for the break, so it should have some shape. Keep in mind, this is a long-range call, so it’s a promising one but not a dead cert. Also, crowds are possible here, so get in early.

The last few days (Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th) keep offering some long-period SSW and SW groundswells, with energy readings climbing into the four digits (1030 on the 25th, 1642 on the 26th). The periods are long (19 to 21 seconds), and with offshore winds, it’ll be clean. But again, for a beach break, that long period can make it a bit straight. Worth a look, but the 21st is your best bet.

All in all, it’s a quiet start, a rough middle, and a late-flourishing second week. Keep your eyes on that Tuesday the 21st morning.

Rusty.
