Table - best surf conditions forecast for Porth Ceriad over the next 16 days.
Alright, surfers, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you – this 16-day window for Porth Ceriad is a tough one. We’re looking at a long stretch of tiny, weak surf that’s just not worth paddling out for. The first real chance of anything rideable doesn’t show up until the very end of the period, and even that is small.
For the first week, from Thursday the 9th through to Sunday the 19th of July, we’ve got a flat spell with barely a ripple. Swell heights are mostly around 0.3 ft to 1 ft, and the combined wave energy is next to nothing – we’re talking values like 2 (weak) or even 0. The wind is often offshore or glassy, so the water’s surface would be clean, but there’s simply no push to the waves. It’s a real bummer.
Now, Sunday morning the 19th and Monday the 20th are still tiny. By Tuesday the 21st, we’re still stuck with 0.7 ft junk. Things don’t start to lift until the last couple of days. Friday morning the 24th shows a couple of windows with a small 2 ft SSW swell, but the combined energy is still weak (25). That’s the best we’ve got, and it’s not saying much. It’s a beginner-friendly size, but the quality? Poor. Glassy conditions on Friday morning the 24th would be beautiful to look at, but the surf just isn’t there.
Honestly, for this whole 16-day run, there isn’t a standout session. The swell is tiny, the periods are short, and the energy is pathetic. If you’re desperate, keep an eye on the 24th of July, but don’t hold your breath. The water is sitting at 63°F – which is over 5°F warmer than usual for this time of year, so the water is feeling much warmer than normal. If you’re determined to get wet, it looks more like a paddle-around day than a surf day.
Rusty.
