Updates in  hr  min  s Forecast update imminent

Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you — this stretch ahead is a real quiet one. We’re looking at a 16-day window where the surf just never really gets going. The first real recommendation doesn’t come until the 7th of July, and even then, it’s a tiny blip. From there, we’ve got a long, flat gap that stretches for days, with only a few knee-high whispers here and there that never add up to anything you’d want to paddle out for. The only break on the radar is Porth Ceriad, but it’s not a pretty picture.

Tuesday morning, 7th July – It starts off with the best chance, but that’s not saying much. Porth Ceriad sees a tiny 1.3 ft swell from the SW, but with a period of just 5 seconds, it’s weak and short-period. The wind is glassy though, dead calm from the SSW at 3 mph, so the surface would be like a mirror. The combined energy is a dismal 7 (weak) – honestly, it’s more of a paddle-around than a surf. The afternoon only gets worse: a 1.0 ft NW windswell and onshore breeze. Not worth it.

Wednesday, 8th July – Morning has a glassy 0.7 ft from the WSW, period 3 seconds – total dribble. Afternoon is flat with a light cross-onshore.

Thursday, 9th July – Morning glassy but flat. Afternoon sees a tiny 0.3 ft from the SW with a 4-second period, offshore wind from the NNW at 6 mph, but it’s nothing. Combined energy is 1 (very weak).

Friday, 10th July – Another 0.3 ft SW swell, period 11 seconds, which is long but there’s almost no height. Offshore wind in the morning keeps it clean, but the energy is only 2 (weak). The afternoon has a bit more wind at 12 mph, cross-offshore, but still only 0.3 ft.

Saturday, 11th July – A 1.3 ft pulse from the ESE shows up in the morning, period of just 3 seconds. Offshore wind from the NNW at 9 mph keeps it clean, but combined energy is only 4 (weak). Not enough push to ride.

Sunday, 12th July – Flat morning with a cross-shore breeze. Afternoon sees a 0.7 ft from the ESE, period 3 seconds, but the wind is offshore from the NNW at 12 mph. Combined energy is 1 (weak). Still nothing.

Monday, 13th July – Flat morning. Afternoon brings a 0.3 ft from the W with a very long period of 19 seconds, combined energy at 7 (weak). That’s a long period groundswell, but on an exposed beach break like Porth Ceriad, it’ll break too straight and won’t form any kind of rideable face at that height. It’s a tease.

Tuesday, 14th July – Flat morning with a cross-chop. Afternoon shows a 0.3 ft from the SW, period 18 seconds, combined energy 12 (weak). Still too small.

Wednesday, 15th July – Morning has a 0.3 ft from the W, period 16 seconds, with a cross-shore chop. Afternoon is the same direction but with a light cross-onshore. Not enough to do anything.

Thursday, 16th July – Morning is glassy with a 0.3 ft from the SW, period 14 seconds, combined energy 14 (weak). The afternoon cranks up to 16 mph offshore from the N, but still only 0.3 ft. Clean but flat.

Friday, 17th July – A 1.6 ft from the ESE appears in the morning, period 3 seconds, combined energy 12 (weak). Light cross-shore wind. That’s the biggest swell we’ve seen, but at 3 seconds it’s just wind chop. Afternoon drops back to 0.3 ft.

Saturday, 18th July – A consistent 1.0 ft from the SW, period 6–7 seconds, with gentle to moderate offshore winds from the NNW. Combined energy up to 9 (weak). Still a long way from rideable.

Sunday, 19th July – A 1.0 ft from the ESE in the morning with light rain, cross-offshore wind. Afternoon is 0.3 ft from the SW with offshore breeze. No go.

Monday, 20th July – Morning is dead flat and glassy with zero wind. Afternoon has a 0.3 ft from the SW with cross-offshore wind. Combined energy 1–3 (weak).

Tuesday, 21st July – A 0.3 ft from the W, period 12 seconds, with light offshore wind in the morning.
