Table - best surf conditions forecast for Perran Sands over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's be straight – the next 16 days at Perran Sands are a real struggle. We've got a reef break that's usually fairly consistent, but right now it's offering next to nothing. Water temp is sitting at about 62°F, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year – small mercies. But the surf? Honestly, it's a lean run.
From Thursday 9 July right through to the end of the window, nearly every session is marked as poor. The only flicker of something even remotely surfable comes on Saturday 11 July in the afternoon. We're talking a tiny 2.6 ft swell from the north, period a short 6 seconds, so it's weak and gutless – combined energy only 96. Wind is light ENE at 6 mph, cross-off, so the surface will be clean. The wave comment says "surfable waves but very ordinary conditions". That's about as generous as you can get. Still, if you're desperate for a paddle and don't mind knee-high slop, that's your best shot. But don't expect much.
The rest of the period is a write-off. Winds are mostly onshore or cross-onshore, swells stay tiny, and the energy readings rarely break three digits. There's a long gap from Sunday 12 July onwards where scores don't even reach a 1 – just day after day of poor surf. Even the few cleaner moments, like Tuesday 14 July morning with a fresh offshore ESE wind at 19 mph, only deliver a 2.0 ft swell from the north. Too small to bother with.
Bottom line: don't pencil in any sessions. This is one of those stretches where the forecast can change, but right now it's looking bleak. Keep the board in the car and check back later.
