Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's on the table for the next couple of weeks.
Right, straight up, it’s a pretty bleak start. For nearly a week, we’re looking at a whole lot of nothing. The swell's just too weak, the wind is messy, or it’s onshore, and it's making for pretty poor surf conditions. There’s a solid gap from the start right through to the end of the first week. Honestly, don't bother paddling out.
The first faint flicker of hope shows up on Wednesday morning the 8th of July. Milook gets a bit of a reprieve with clean, glassy conditions and a tiny 2 ft swell from the west. The combined energy is a weak (63), so it’s really just a knee-high dribble, but the glass is a welcome sight after the chop.
A slightly better window opens up on Friday the 10th of July. We get a gentle offshore wind from the east, cleaning things right up. The swell is still small, around 2 ft from the west with a period of 9 seconds. The wave energy is still low (81) but the clean conditions make it surfable. If you need a fix, that’s your morning session.
Now, hold onto your board shorts, because after a long, quiet spell things start to get interesting in the second week. The standout here is Monday the 20th of July. Milook is looking at a solid 7 ft swell from the west, with a combined energy of (612) indicating moderate to strong wave energy. This is a bit chunky, but the wind is a light offshore from the northeast in the morning. That should produce some proper, clean waves. This is the one.
Then it gets even better. Tuesday the 21st of July might just be the pick of the whole run. It’s still a solid 8 ft west swell (energy at 780), but the wind swings to a gentle offshore from the southeast, making for what looks like prime conditions. This is the sort of day you’d be a fool to miss. It’s big enough for experts only, but for the crew who can handle it, Milook is going to fire.
Keep in mind, for the later part of the second week, it’s all a bit more of a long-range promise, so don’t lock it in just yet. But that Monday and Tuesday window in the third week is the light at the end of the tunnel.
Rusty.
