Alright mate, let’s have a proper look at this. The honest truth? This stretch is a flat, blown-out mess for the North Sea.
We’ve got 16 days to look at, and straight off the bat, there’s a big fat nothing. No surf worth mentioning for ages. The first reading is for Friday, July 10th, and it’s a pathetic 0.6ft from the NNE with a weak 6-second period. The combined energy is only 8, so it’s got no grunt. The wind is onshore and it’s all blown out. That theme sticks around for the whole first week.
There is a tiny bump on Sunday, July 12th. The swell gets up to 4ft from the NE, but it’s still got that short 6-second period. The energy hits 107, so there’s a bit more push. Problem is, the wind is blowing a fresh 18 mph from the NE, cross-onshore, making it lumpy. That’s not a surf report, that’s a kiteboarding forecast. This beach setup with that much onshore wind is going to be a mess for a paddle board.
Into the second week, things clean up but the swell drops out. Around Saturday, July 18th and into Sunday, July 19th, the wind turns cross-offshore from the NNW. The swell sits between 3ft and 5ft. Periods are still short, 5 to 7 seconds. The energy is moderate (114 to 140). It’ll be clean, but the waves will be soft and lack punch. It’s not a standout, just the best of a bad bunch.
After that, it’s back to flat, tiny dribble for the last week. 0.3ft to 2ft swell. It’s a blank run, but that’s pretty normal for this coast. Forecasts can always flip, but right now, there’s nothing to get excited about.
