Table - best surf conditions forecast for Jupiter Inlet South Jetty over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you – the next 16 days at Jupiter Inlet South Jetty are looking like a tough stretch. We’ve got a solid 16-day window, but the surf is basically flat to tiny for the whole run. The combined swell energy barely cracks 75, and most days it’s down in the teens or twenties. That’s weak, no two ways about it.
We start off now and it’s a real bummer. Friday the 10th through Sunday the 12th, you’re looking at swell heights of just 0.7ft to 2ft, mostly from the SE with a short, weak period of 4 to 5 seconds. The wind is cross-on or onshore, making it choppy and messy. There’s nothing to get excited about. This flat spell runs for a solid week.
Even when we get a sniff of something better, it’s marginal. On Wednesday the 15th, we see a tiny bump, with swell hitting 2ft to 3ft from the NE, but still with a low period of 8 seconds. The combined energy hits 75 in the afternoon, which is the best we’ll see, but the wind is onshore, so it’s poor.
The one bright spot in this whole outlook is Thursday the 16th morning. We get a clean set-up with offshore wind from the WNW at 6 mph. The swell is 2ft from the NE, period 7 seconds. It’s small, but that offshore wind will make it glassy and rideable for a skilled surfer on a log. The combined energy is a weak 55. This is about as good as it gets, and it’s still not good.
After that, it’s back to the same story. The rest of the run into late July is more of the same: tiny windswell from the SE or ENE, cross-on breezes, and very low energy. The water temp is about average for the time of year, no wild anomalies to report.
Honestly, for a break that’s fairly consistent normally, this is a real dry spell. It’s not a stretch for kite surfing either, because the swell is just too small. If you’re desperate, Thursday the 16th morning is your only chance to get a clean little wave. Otherwise, save your energy and wait for the next system.
Rusty.
