Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, this is Rusty. Let’s talk about what’s happening at Jupiter Inlet South Jetty.
Right now, we’re looking at a pretty flat, quiet stretch ahead. The combined swell energy is weak, barely registering above 50 (53) at best, and most of the time it's down in the teens or single digits. That tells the story: there’s just no real push out there. The swell direction is mostly from the NE or SE, but the heights are tiny—0.7ft to 2ft—and the periods are short, mostly 4 to 7 seconds. That’s windswell, not groundswell, and it’s not going to shape up into anything worth paddling out for.
The forecast shows nothing but “poor surf conditions” for every single session through the entire 16-day window. There’s no standout day, no hidden gem. Friday morning, July 3rd has glassy conditions and a 2ft NE swell, but with that 7-second period and weak energy (53), it’s just not enough to get excited about. The wind turns onshore or cross-onshore almost every afternoon, chopping up what little swell there is.
Saturday, July 11th morning is glassy again, with a small 1.0ft ENE swell and a 10-second period. That’s a touch more period, but still tiny. Combined energy is only 33. It’s clean, but you’d be scratching for a ride.
Given the break is a beach/jetty setup, the swells are small and direction is mostly cross-or onshore, this is more of a time to wax the board and wait. There are no standout sessions. The crowds might show up anyway, but there’s nothing here to crowd for.
For beginners, the swell never gets above 5ft, so no worries there, but there's also almost nothing to surf. For experts, there’s no size or power to play with. The jetty might offer a little shape on the small ENE swells if the wind goes offshore, but even then, we’re talking knee-high at best.
Hang in there. It’s a flat spell, but it won’t stay this way forever. Forecasts can change.
Stay tuned,
Rusty
