Table - best surf conditions forecast for Jupiter Inlet South Jetty over the next 16 days.
Alright, this is Rusty, and I’ve had a good look at the charts for the next couple of weeks. I’m not gonna sugarcoat it – it’s a tough stretch for the Jupiter Inlet South Jetty. The numbers are pretty flat, and the wind is playing silly buggers for most of the run.
Right now, there’s just nothing doing. The first couple of days are a write-off. We’re looking at a tiny 0.7 ft to 2 ft of swell, mostly from the east and southeast, but the wind is onshore or cross-onshore from the southeast, making it a choppy, messy mess. The combined energy is weak, barely cracking 15 to 34 (15-34), so it’s just a lot of wind chop with no real power. You’d be better off going for a swim.
The water temperature is sitting around 86°, which is about 1° warmer than usual for this time of year. That’s a bit toastier than normal, but nothing too crazy, just a warm bath.
This flat spell doesn’t really let up. We go through the whole first week with the same story: small, weak swell and a persistent cross-onshore wind. The swell heights never get above 3 ft, and the periods are short, under 9 seconds, so it’s all wind-swell with no grunt. The combined energy does bump up to around 78 (78) on the 15th, but it’s still weak and the wind is still on it, so it’s not going to turn into anything rideable.
The only glimmer in the whole 16-day window comes on Saturday the 18th. It’s still tiny, only 1.0 ft, but for a few hours in the morning, the wind goes completely glassy out of the west. The combined energy is a measly 12 (12), but it’ll be clean. If you’re absolutely desperate for a glide on a longboard or a foily, that’s your window. Just don’t expect any power.
After that, we’re back to the same pattern of small, onshore, sloppy conditions through to the end of the run. The swell direction is a bit all over the place, switching between east and southeast, but it never builds. The wind stays mostly onshore or cross-onshore, so it’s just a long stretch of poor surf.
Honestly, for a break that’s fairly exposed to the northeast, this is a blank run. The south-east wind is the killer here. It’s a beach and jetty setup, and with the wind and the tiny swell, it’s looking more interesting for a kite than a paddle.
Bottom line: the only potential standout is that single glassy morning on the 18th, but it’s a promise of cleanliness, not size. The rest of the 16 days is a long gap of no recommendations.
Rusty.
