The Lowdown
Hey, Rusty here. Looking at the forecast, we're in a pretty dry spell. For the next 16 days, there's just no swell to speak of at the Jupiter Inlet South Jetty. The waves are gonna be tiny, so don't get your hopes up.
For the first week, from Sunday the 16th through Saturday the 22nd, the swell is basically flat. Heights are mostly around 0.7 ft. The wind shifts around, but the big problem is the complete lack of wave energy. The combined swell energy is low, staying under 100, which is a sign of how weak it is. We're looking at weak energy. Even on a clean morning like Monday the 17th with a light offshore W wind at 6 mph, there's just nothing to ride. It's a total bummer.
Into the second week, from Sunday the 23rd onward, it's more of the same. The swell tries to get going but never does. You might see a few afternoons with a southeast breeze and a tiny 2 ft of short-period chop, but it's crossed-up and messy. The combined energy is still low.
Even towards the end, around the 27th, we get a bit of longer period from the NE, hitting 12 seconds, which hints at some groundswell, but the height is only 0.7 ft. The combined energy is low. It's practically flat. That clean westerly offshore on the 27th morning with 6 mph wind would be perfect, but there’s no swell to go with it.
The very end of the run, including the 31st, shows a tiny 1 ft NE swell with a clean offshore WSW wind at 3 mph. It's just a tease. The combined energy of all swells directed here is weak (24). There is no standout day.
Given the consistently tiny surf and poor conditions, this setup is looking more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing.
This is Rusty, signing off. It’s a waiting game.
