Yo, Rusty here again, breaking it down in feet and Fahrenheit.
It’s a patchy couple of weeks ahead for Corals, a consistent reef break that likes an east swell. Let’s talk it through.
Tuesday the 7th kicks off small with 2ft of east swell under a light cross-offshore breeze. The water’s sitting at a warm 79°, which is right about average for this time of year. Combined energy is weak (147), so it’s just a gentle paddle, nothing special.
Wednesday the 8th morning goes glassy with a tiny 2ft SSE groundswell. The period is a nice 11 seconds, so it has some shape, but the size is tiny. Energy is still weak at 146.
Thursday the 9th morning is where it wakes up. Swell bumps to 3ft from the SSE with a 12-second period, and the wind is dead glass. Energy hits a moderate 304. It’s clean, easy, and a solid morning for a longboard. Not a standout size-wise but the conditions are perfect.
Friday the 10th morning holds 3ft of SSE swell, but a cross-shore wind makes it less pristine. The afternoon brings a jump to 4ft from the SE with a very long 14-second period and energy at a strong 668. That’s a lot of push, but the onshore wind spoils it.
The absolute best session is Saturday the 11th morning. A clean 4ft of SE groundswell with a 13-second period, combined energy at a strong 588, and flat calm, glassy conditions with a light offshore from the NW. This is the one. The reef will be firing with clean, powerful lines. Crowds are possible here, so plan to be early. This is the standout of the entire outlook.
Sunday the 12th morning is still good, with 4ft of SSE swell, 12 seconds, and another glassy morning, but energy dips to 387. It’s a great follow-up session, just a touch smaller.
After that, the surf drops off fast. Monday the 13th and Tuesday the 14th are small and weak, energy falling from 211 down to 77. Not worth the drive.
Wednesday the 15th through Thursday the 16th is flat and messy. Short-period windswell with energy in the 60s–130 range. Best to stay home.
Friday the 17th sees a tiny bump to 3ft from the SSE with a short 8-second period and light cross-off winds. Energy is 174. It’s surfable but nothing special.
A second small pulse hits Saturday the 18th morning. Swell reaches 4ft from the east with glassy conditions and moderate energy (345). The short 7-second period makes it a bit crumbly, but it’s clean for the morning window.
The rest of the run into Monday the 20th is small and mixed. Tuesday the 21st morning offers a clean 3ft east swell at 8 seconds with glassy winds and 221 energy. It’s a nice, mellow session.
Wednesday the 22nd morning wraps it up with 5ft of east swell at 8 seconds, light cross-offshore wind, and moderate energy at 292. Again, clean but lacking any real punch.
So, the big takeaway is Saturday the 11th morning – that’s your gold. Glassy, solid 4ft SE groundswell, and the reef will be cooking. Thursday the 9th morning is a close second for conditions, just smaller. The rest is a mix of small windows and flat spells.
This is Rusty, signing off.
