Table - best surf conditions forecast for Coombesgate Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright, mate. Rusty here. Let’s have a look at the Coombesgate Beach (Norfolk, England) outlook.
Well, I’m not gonna sugarcoat it – this 16-day window is a bleak one for surf. The first solid recommendation doesn’t even show up because the waves are just too small and the conditions are all over the place. The water temp is sitting at 63°, which is a touch warmer than normal for the time of year, but that’s about the only thing that’s working in our favour.
We’ve got a long stretch of nothing worth paddling out for. From Thursday the 9th right through to about the 20th of July, this is a desert. The swell is tiny – mostly 0.3ft to 2ft – and even when there’s a little bump, the wind is either howling or it’s cross-on. The combined energy is weak, with values like 48 (low energy) and 32 (almost nothing). Don’t even think about a board.
There’s a slight flicker on Tuesday the 20th of July afternoon, with a small 2ft W swell showing up, but the wind is onshore and it’s messy. By Wednesday the 21st, we get a bit more – 3ft from the west, but again, the wind is cross-on and choppy. The energy is still moderate at best, around 52 to 66 (moderate energy). It’s not going to be a classic.
The best of the lot, if you can call it that, is probably Thursday the 22nd of July morning. The swell is 2ft from the west with a 8-second period, and the wind is light cross-onshore from the NW. It’s small, but it’s clean enough for a longboard or a foiler. The water’s still warm-ish. The crowds here are “sometimes” an issue, so you might have a few others out, but it won’t be packed. The optimum swell direction here is WNW, and we’re getting a westerly, so it’s close enough.
After that, the 23rd and 24th stay small and messy. Honestly, for most of this period, the setup looks more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing, with that strong cross-off wind and tiny waves. If you’re desperate, bring a longboard and a lot of patience.
Rusty.
