Table - best surf conditions forecast for Boscombe Pier over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ over the next couple of weeks.
Straight off the bat, I gotta be honest with you – it’s a bleak stretch for Boscombe Pier. We’re looking at a solid 16-day run with barely a wave worth paddling for. The first real chance of anything comes in on Saturday, 12th July, but even then, it’s not going to get the heart racing. After that, there’s a massive gap of flat or near-flat conditions that drags all the way through to the end of the forecast. There’s no standout session in here, no sneaky groundswell to get excited about.
The best of a bad bunch might be Sunday afternoon, 13th July. We’ve got a tiny pulse of swell from the east, around 3 ft, but it’s short period at 5 seconds and coming in with a cross-onshore breeze. The combined energy is only 30 so it’s weak. It’s messy and choppy, and honestly, that cross-shore wind is gonna make it a fight. Not exactly what you’d call a quality session.
The only other moment that almost looks like it could be clean is the morning of Saturday, 19th July. There’s a little 2 ft easterly swell blowing with a light offshore wind from the north-northeast. The energy is minimal though (20), and the period is short at 5 seconds. It’ll be small, clean, and probably a bit gutless. If you’re a beginner who just wants to get wet and not worry about size, that might be your window, but don’t expect any power.
Honestly, looking at the entire run, there’s no point lying to you. The swell is tiny, the wind is mostly cross or onshore, and the energy levels are just pathetic. The water temp is about average for the time of year, so that’s one small mercy. But if you’re after a proper surf, you’re better off dusting off the kite gear or just waiting for the next proper system to roll through. It’s a tough run for Boscombe, but it won’t stay this way forever.
Stay loose,
Rusty.
