Table - best surf conditions forecast for Boscombe Pier over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s get into it. I’m Rusty, and I’ve been watching this stretch of coast for years. We’ve got a long window ahead, but I’ll be straight with you – it’s a tough one. For the next 16 days from the start of the period, the vast majority of it is a write-off. There’s basically no surf to speak of for the first 11 days, from Thursday the 9th right through to the early hours of Monday the 20th. You’ll see a few tiny bumps pop up, but nothing that’s worth a paddle. For the first week and a half, it’s a flat spell with poor conditions, and the combined energy stays well under 100, often just a few measly units. The water temperature is about average for the time of year, nothing out of the ordinary.
Then, on Monday the 20th of July, we finally get a tiny glimmer. Boscombe Pier (Boscombe) might just offer a very brief window on the morning of that Monday. The swell is a weak 3 ft from the east, with a short period of 6 seconds – that’s just wind swell, and it’s weak. The combined energy is only 64, so it’s weak. But the wind is blowing offshore from the north-northwest at 12 mph, which will keep the surface clean. The break itself is a beach/pier setup, and it’s inconsistent. For a beginner, it’s just about surfable, but barely. The afternoon of that same day drops off again. The rest of the week after that is a return to tiny, poor surf, with nothing standing out.
Honestly, the best I can say is that Monday morning might give you a couple of small, clean waves if you’re desperate. It’s not a standout, but it’s the only game in town. The rest of the 16-day window is a dud. For an area like this, a blank run is unfortunately pretty normal when the charts look like this. Still, forecasts can change, but right now, I’d be hanging the wetsuit up for a while.
Rusty.
