Table - best surf conditions forecast for Boneyards over the next 16 days.

Alright, let’s get into it. Rusty here.

First up, we’ve got a solid pulse of swell rolling into Boneyards. This is a reef setup, so it’s for the experienced crew – not a beginner’s playground. The water’s sitting at 61°, which is pretty much spot on for this time of year, nothing unusual there.

Wednesday morning, the 8th of July, is where it all kicks off. We’re looking at a clean 8ft swell from the SW, with a nice long 13-second period, and the wind is glassy – dead calm. That’s a recipe for some serious morning sessions. The combined energy is strong, sitting at 2751. The water’s clear, the air’s still, and the waves are powerful. This is a standout for the knowledgeable surfer.

Wednesday afternoon, the wind swings hard to the SSE at 19 mph, cross-off, and it gets a bit messy. The swell still has size at 7ft, but the quality drops. Thursday and Friday keep that size up – 8ft to 10ft from the SSW – but the wind stays fresh and cross-off, so it’s clean but not perfect. These days are for the die-hards who can handle the power.

Saturday the 11th of July is the next real highlight. The swell drops to 7ft in the morning, then 6ft in the afternoon, with a moderate to gentle offshore breeze from the ESE. The period is 12 to 11 seconds, and the energy is moderate (1273 and 1054). The conditions are clean, lined up, and a lot more manageable. This is another top window for the experienced surfer.

Sunday morning the 12th is glassy again, with 4ft of SSW swell and a 11-second period. The energy is lower (536), but the glassy conditions make it super inviting.

From Sunday afternoon, things get small and weak. The energy drops to 397 and then 179. By Monday the 13th, we’re down to 3ft, and the wind is cross-on – poor conditions. There’s a long gap of tiny, messy surf from here until the next pulse.

The next real event is around Friday the 17th of July. A new 7ft to 8ft SSW swell shows up, with a 11-second period. The wind is cross-off, so it’s clean, but fresh at 19 to 22 mph. The energy is moderate-to-strong (1730 and 1215). Not a classic, but it’s the only size in the second week.

Saturday the 18th of July gives a last little gasp: 5ft to 5ft from the SW, with a light breeze and clean conditions. Energy is moderate (560 and 621). It’s a nice, mellow day for a paddle.

After that, from Sunday the 19th onwards, the wind turns nasty – strong cross-onshore and onshore, with gusts up to 28 mph. The swell stays around 5ft to 7ft, but the wind is ruining it. These are not surf days. The setup is more for kite surfing than paddle surfing, honestly.

So, the best of the best is Wednesday morning, the 8th of July, for the glassy, powerful SW groundswell at Boneyards. Second pick is Saturday the 11th of July, with the clean offshore winds and solid, manageable waves. Get onto it.

Rusty.
