Table - best surf conditions forecast for Azarujinha over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s be real: this is a tough stretch for Azarujinha. The next 16 days are looking pretty flat and unremarkable, so don’t go getting your hopes up for any epic sessions. The water is sitting at a mild 68°F, which is pretty normal for this time of year, so at least you won’t need a steamer.
The first bit of surf worth mentioning is Thursday morning, the 9th of July. We’re looking at tiny 2ft swell coming out of the WNW with a 10-second period. The energy is weak (58), but the wind is offshore and light, making it clean. It’s surfable, but it’s very ordinary. You’ll be scratching for waves.
Saturday morning, the 11th of July, offers a little more. The swell is still small at 1ft from the WNW, but the period bumps up to 11 seconds, giving it a bit more life. The energy is still low (75), but with a light breeze keeping it clean, it’s the most promising of the early days. Still, don’t expect any standouts.
The 12th of July, Sunday, sees the combined energy climb to 151 and 157 for the morning and afternoon, which is the most we’ll see in the whole outlook. The swell is 3ft from the WNW with a 9-second period. It’s more energy, but the wind is cross-shore, making conditions choppy. It won’t be pretty.
After that, it’s a long, flat run. From the 13th of July right through to the 23rd of July, the swell is consistently below 2ft, and the energy readings are mostly in the teens and twenties. There’s nothing to get excited about. The wind is often offshore, which is a tease, but with no swell to work with, it’s just a waste of good conditions.
The one glimmer on the horizon is Monday afternoon, the 20th of July. We get a tiny 0.3ft swell from the SW, but the period jumps to 16 seconds – that’s very long-period groundswell. The energy is negligible (17), but it’s a sign of something deeper. However, the wind is a fresh 19 mph cross-offshore, so it’s blown out anyway. This is one for the long-range forecast watchers, not for the paddler.
Overall, there’s no standout session here. The whole 16-day window is a bust. The surf is too small, too weak, and too often choppy. For a spot like this, it’s not unusual to have a blank run like this. Don’t stress; it’ll turn around eventually. Keep an eye on the charts, but for now, leave the board at home.
