Table - best surf conditions forecast for Azarujinha over the next 16 days.
G'day, Rusty here. Look, I'll be straight with you – this 16-day window for Azarujinha is a real mixed bag, and honestly, it's mostly a waiting game. We've got a lot of small, gutless days with wind that's not quite right, but there's one morning that might just be worth the wait.
The forecast kicks off with a pretty ordinary run. Thursday the 9th morning has a tiny 1.6ft swell from the WNW with a 10-second period, and while the wind is offshore and clean, the wave energy is weak (58). It's surfable, but you'll be fighting for scraps. The next few days are a bit of a slog. Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th see similar small swells, but the wind is cross-offshore, which just doesn't do it for a reef setup like Azarujinha. The water temp is about average for this time of year, nothing to write home about.
Sunday the 12th gives us a bit more size, with a 3.3ft swell from the WNW, but the wind switches to a light cross-onshore, making it choppy and messy. The energy is moderate (162), but it's a write-off for a clean surf. The pattern of small, poor conditions continues through the following week. Monday the 13th offers a tiny 0.7ft swell with a very long 18-second period, but the energy is next to nothing (53). The long period would make it tricky at a reef break anyway.
The only real standout, and I mean the only one worth getting excited about, is the morning of Sunday the 19th. We've got a 4.3ft swell from the NW, with a 9-second period, and the wind is offshore and clean. The wave energy is solid (270), and the forecast calls for "good surf conditions." This is your best bet. The swell is a bit on the bigger side for beginners, but for an intermediate surfer, it's prime. The crowds at Azarujinha can be an issue, so get out early. After that, the energy drops right off again and the wind gets fresh, making the rest of the window a write-off for decent waves.
So, there you have it. A long, flat spell with one promising morning on the 19th. Let's hope the forecasts hold.
