Table - best surf conditions forecast for Azarujinha over the next 16 days.
Hey folks, Rusty here on the Portuguese coast. Let's break down the next couple of weeks at Azarujinha.
I'm going to level with you: this forecast is a tough pill to swallow. We've got clean skies and decent wind, but the Atlantic isn't cooperating. For the next 16 days, we're looking at a whole lot of nothing in the swell department. The water's a normal 69°, so no surprises there.
The first few days are a total wash. Tuesday and Wednesday of this week are tiny. The wind is offshore or cross-offshore, but with combined energy readings in the weak zone (like 13 to 30), you'd be lucky to find a ripple. It's flat, frustrating, and not worth the rubber.
Thursday the 10th and Friday the 11th show a tiny uptick, but we're still stuck with weak energy (66 and 75). Saturday the 12th is your best bet, with combined energy hitting 135 (moderate energy) on Sunday morning from the NW at 2 feet. That's the closest we get to a real wave, but it's still small and cross-offshore.
The second week is more of the same – small swells, but offshore winds become more common. Monday, July 16th, has a 3-foot, 7-second swell from the W. The period is so short the waves will be crumbly, and while the energy hits 109 (moderate energy), it's just not quality surf.
My honest advice? If you're dying for a paddle, hit the morning sessions when the wind is light or offshore. But if you want real waves, you're better off waiting for a proper storm to roll through. This stretch is a real bummer, but the surf always comes back.
Rusty out.
