Table - best surf conditions forecast for Azarujinha over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here again. Let's break it down in feet and miles per hour for you.
First off, it's gonna be a long, flat wait. The opening stretch is pretty grim. You're lookin' at tiny, weak dribble from Saturday the 11th right through to, well, pretty much the end of the month. The water temp is sittin' around 67°F which is pretty standard for this time of year.
For the first week and a half, we're talkin' swell heights barely ticklin' 2 feet, with combined wave energy mostly under a hundred – real weak stuff (87 on Saturday morning, then mostly double digits or less). The wind plays games too: cross-shore, onshore, cross-off... nothin' consistent enough to save these tiny lumps. Even when we get a morning like Saturday the 16th with clean offshore NNW wind at 12 mph, the swell is only 2 feet with a period of 9 seconds. Surfable, but you'd be scratchin' for something worth paddling for.
There's a big gap of proper no-go days. From Saturday the 11th right through to Saturday the 26th of July, it's nearly all "poor surf conditions." A few mornings scrape a "surfable waves but very ordinary conditions" rating, but honestly? Nothin' to write home about. You'd be better off takin' up golf.
Now, there is one blip on the radar that gets my attention. Lookin' way out to Sunday the 26th of July, the morning session shows a jump. We're seein' a 5 feet NW swell, with a period of 9 seconds, and the combined energy jumps to 398 – that's moderate energy. Wind is cross-off from the NNW at 12 mph, so it'll be clean. Now, that 5 feet is a bit much for beginners, but for the intermediates and up, that's where it could get interestin'. The direction matches up with the optimum swell direction for the reef. Just keep in mind, that's two weeks out – promising, but you'd wanna check back closer to the day.
So, the one standout: if you're patient, keep your eyes on Sunday morning, the 26th of July at Azarujinha. It's the only real glimmer of decent size and clean conditions in this whole forecast. Everything else is flat or frustrating.
Rusty, out.
