Table - best surf conditions forecast for Azarujinha over the next 16 days.
G’day, Rusty here. I’ve had a good look at what’s on offer for our stretch of coast, and I gotta be straight with ya – the next two weeks are gonna be a proper test of patience. We’re looking at a real long, lean spell with hardly anything to get excited about. The whole first week and a half is pretty much a write-off. There’s a gap of almost ten days with no proper surf on the cards, which is a long time to be staring at a flat ocean.
The first real chance of anything rideable doesn’t show up until Tuesday the 21st of July. Even then, it’s not exactly firing. We’ve got a bit of a pulse pushing in, with a moderate combined swell energy of around 232, but the swell’s coming from the NW at about 4ft with a short period of 8 seconds. It’s a bit of a mushy, wind-affected lump. The wind is set to be cross-offshore and clean, which is a positive, but the waves themselves are likely to be pretty ordinary. The water temp is sitting around 66°, which is about average for this time of year, nothing weird going on there.
Honestly, the only day that really peeks its head up as a true standout – and I use that term loosely – is Sunday the 26th of July. That morning, we’re looking at some glassy conditions, which is a massive plus. The swell bumps up a touch to 3ft from the WNW with a 9-second period and a combined energy of 135. It’s still not big, but with the wind totally off the water, it’ll be clean as a whistle. That’s your window if you’re desperate for a paddle. For the rest of the run, we’re looking at small, weak waves or strong offshore winds that make it hard to even get into anything. Not much to shout about.
If you’re a beginner, the biggest stuff we see is on the afternoon of Tuesday the 21st, with 5ft waves – but that’s paired with a red flag in terms of quality. It’s not recommended. After that, the water gets quiet again. So, enjoy the glassy Sunday the 26th, because that’s the best we’ve got for a while.
Rusty.
