Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s coming up for Azarujinha over the next couple of weeks. I’ll be straight with you – it’s a pretty quiet run for the most part. We’ve got a few mornings that might be worth a paddle, but nothing that’s going to blow your mind. The water temp is about average for this time of year, so no nasty surprises there.
The first real chance of anything worthwhile doesn’t show up until Saturday morning, July 11th. That morning, we’re looking at a clean 3ft swell from the WNW with a moderate offshore wind from the NNW. It’s a bit of a wait, but the conditions will be clean and the wave energy is moderate (232). It’s a fairly consistent spot, so there’s a chance of a few fun ones, but it’s not a standout.
The real standout, the one that’s got my attention, is Monday morning, July 13th. The forecast shows a clean 3ft swell from the WNW with a 13-second period – that’s some proper groundswell energy rolling in. The wind is a gentle offshore from the NNW, and the combined energy is strong (305). This is a reef break, so that long period will wrap in nicely, giving you some proper shape. It’s intermediate-level, so a bit more grunt to it, but it’s the best on offer. Crowds are often here, so expect some company.
After that, we’ve got a few mornings with smaller, cleaner surf, but nothing with the same energy. By the time we get to the weekend of July 18th, it’s all but gone.
So, to sum it up: the first week is a bit of a write-off. Your best bet is the morning of Saturday, July 11th for a clean session, but the real highlight is the morning of Monday, July 13th. That’s the one to circle on the calendar. The rest of the run is a poor show, I’m afraid.
Rusty.
