The Lowdown
Alright folks, let’s talk about what’s on the cards for Azarujinha over the next couple of weeks.
First up, gotta be straight with you – the start of this forecast run is a real quiet one. We’re looking at a solid dry spell from Wednesday the 15th right through until the morning of Saturday the 26th of July. That’s over a week of tiny, weak waves. Most days you’re staring at ankle-to-knee high slop with combined energy barely tickling 40-50 (weak). The wind’s alright, often clean, but there’s simply no power behind it.
Now, Saturday the 26th morning is when we finally get a pulse. The swell bumps to 2 ft at 11 seconds from the west, and we get a little more energy (65) – still only just enough for a longboard. It’s surfable but ordinary, to be honest.
The real standout, the one to circle on your calendar, is Tuesday the 29th of July. Starting from the morning, the swell jumps up to 5 ft from the northwest with a 9-second period. The combined energy hits a solid 423 (moderate). That’s a proper fun, intermediate-sized wave. The wind is light offshore from the north, keeping the reef at Azarujinha (reef) clean and lined up. By the afternoon it gets a bit stronger (19 mph) and bumps to 6 ft (577 energy), but it’s still blowing offshore from the NNW. This is definitely the pick of the fortnight – a good, punchy NW swell with clean conditions.
A heads up though: once that pulse fades, Wednesday the 30th drops to near-flat again with barely a ripple.
So, to sum it up: it’s a long wait, but the 29th is where it’s at.
Stay stoked,
Rusty
