Table - best surf conditions forecast for Aracaju over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s break down what’s cookin’ for the next couple of weeks. Gotta be upfront – it ain’t a pretty picture for Aracaju. There’s a long stretch of nothing good before we even get a hint of a wave, and even then, it’s all a bit of a mess.
We start off on Sunday the 12th, and it’s all "poor surf conditions" through the first week. The first few days are tiny, with swell barely 3 ft from the SE, a period of 12 seconds. The combined energy is weak (229), and the wind is cross-on or cross-shore, leaving the water choppy and uninviting. That stays the same. By Wednesday the 15th, we get a bit of a pulse – 6 ft of short-period SSE swell (8 seconds) in the afternoon, but the wind is a fresh 35 km/h cross-onshore with a risk of thunderstorms. The energy jumps to 711 (moderate), but the conditions are lumpy and messy. That swell sticks around Thursday and Friday, with energy numbers climbing into the strong zone (1375 and 1154), but it’s still blown out by moderate to fresh cross-onshore winds. That kind of strong wind and junky swell is way more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing.
The only spot in the game is Aracaju itself. It’s a beginner-friendly break, so it’s not built for heavy, messy stuff. The optimum swell direction is from the S, and we do see some S and SSE swells, but the wind is never on our side. The water temp is 80°F, which is just 0.9°F above normal for this time of year – so the water feels about average, nothing special.
Then from Saturday the 18th all the way to the end, the swell drops off and the wind is either onshore or cross-on, with the combined energy mostly under 300 (weak to weak-moderate). The period is often short, in the 7-8 second range, and the wave comment stays "poor surf conditions". There’s no standout session in this entire 16-day window. The forecast is consistently bad, and for a fairly consistent spot like Aracaju, that’s a real downer. It’s one of those runs where you’re better off waiting for the next weather system to roll through.
So, the honest truth? There’s nothing worth paddling out for here. Stash the board and check back in a week – forecasts can change, but right now, it’s a flat-out miss.
Rusty.
