Table - best surf conditions forecast for Aracaju over the next 16 days.
Right, mate, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ for your local stretch.
Honestly, looking at the next 16 days, it’s a pretty grim run for any decent surf. We’ve got a real dry spell on our hands. The first recommendation doesn’t pop up until Saturday, July 11th, and from there, it’s a long, flat road with nothing worth paddling out for. The whole forecast is filled with “poor surf conditions” – a real buzzkill. We’re talkin’ about a stretch from the 11th all the way through to the 26th of July with no real standout windows. The breaks are fairly consistent, but the quality just isn’t there.
Aracaju is the only spot on the cards. It’s a beginner-friendly, fairly consistent sand-bottom setup, exposed to S swell. The water’s about 80°F which is bang on average for this time of year, so no worries there. The wind is mostly onshore or cross-onshore, and the swell is small and weak, with combined energy readings often under 200 (weak energy), or just creeping into the low hundreds. Even when the swell bumps up around the 15th to 17th of July, with some solid energy readings (like 1437 to 2918), the wind is a fresh cross-onshore, making it lumpy and messy. That 7ft swell on the morning of July 17th is too big for beginners and, with that onshore wind, it’s only for the hardcore. The swell period is mostly short (under 8 seconds) or moderate, so no real grunt.
There’s no standout in this entire window. The only thing to note is that on July 15th, the swell jumps to 6ft from the SSE with a long 16-second period, but it’s accompanied by a fresh cross-onshore wind and a risk of thunderstorms. Combined energy is strong at 1437, but the conditions are “poor.” It’s more of a kitesurfing setup than a paddle surf session that day.
So, bottom line: save your energy. The forecast can always change, but as it stands, it’s a waiting game.
Rusty.
