Table - best surf conditions forecast for Aracaju over the next 16 days.
Right, gather ‘round. Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what the ocean’s got cookin’ for us in the Aracaju region.
Truth be told, it’s a bit of a flat spell ahead. Gonna be a real struggle to find anything decent for paddle surfing. The entire 16-day window is pretty much a write-off for proper waves. The first little blip of energy we see is on Wednesday the 8th of July, but it’s barely a whisper.
We get a tiny 2ft swell from the south, with a period of 12 seconds, giving a combined wave energy of 216 (moderate energy). Early morning, the wind is light from the east at 3 mph, which is actually slight and clean. But the wave comment says it all – marginal. By afternoon, the wind picks up and shifts, making it poor. It's just not enough to get excited about.
From there, it’s a long, dry stretch. From Thursday the 9th right through to Wednesday the 22nd of July, every single session is flagged as poor surf conditions. The swell hangs around 1ft to 3ft, but the wind is always onshore or cross-onshore, sometimes a bit cross, but never truly favorable. The period is mostly between 11 and 13 seconds, so there’s some energy there, but the wind just chops it all to bits. The water temp is sitting about average for this time of year.
Honestly, Aracaju itself is a beginner-friendly, fairly consistent spot that’s exposed to SW swells. But with these onshore winds and small, weak swells, it’s not looking good for anyone. A spot that’s usually fairly consistent is having a rare blank run. That’s just the nature of the area sometimes – forecasts can be a bit more optimistic, but right now, there’s nothing to recommend.
The only real call I can make is that if you’re desperate, the morning of Wednesday the 8th of July had the cleanest wind. But you’d be surfing a 2ft wave that’s barely breaking. Later on, around Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th of July, the swell bumps up a tiny bit to 3ft, but the wind is straight onshore at 12 mph. That’s a choppy mess, more suited to a kite than a surfboard.
Hang in there. It’s grim, but it won’t stay this way forever.
