Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what the ocean’s got cookin’ for Adraga over the next couple of weeks. Gotta be straight with you—it’s a tough stretch. There’s a real good chance you’ll be staring at flat, choppy water more often than not.
The window kicks off on Friday morning, July 3rd, and honestly, that’s your only real shout for a decent session in the near future. We’ve got a 6ft swell pushing in from the NNW with a 9-second period. The combined wave energy is sitting at a moderate 463, so there’s some push behind it. What makes this one special is the wind—clean, light offshore from the SE. That’ll have the lineup looking glassy. Water temp is 66°, which is pretty much bang on average for this time of year, nothing unusual there. This is the standout of the whole forecast. Get in the water Friday morning.
After that, it’s a grim story. From Friday afternoon all the way through to Saturday morning on July 11th, it’s a total write-off. That’s over a week of weak slop, onshore winds, and tiny, gutless waves. We’re talking combined energy dipping down to as low as 28, with swell heights barely scraping 2ft. Not worth paddling out for.
Now, there’s a flicker of life on Sunday morning, July 12th. The swell bumps up to 4ft from the NW with an 8-second period, and combined energy hits 325. The wind is light and cross-on from the west. It’s only rated as marginal, so temper your expectations. It’s a better bet for a kite session than a surfboard, given the onshore angle and beach-and-reef setup.
The following week stays pretty average. Monday the 13th has some 5ft NNW swell but again it’s cross-on and sloppy. The energy is moderate at 254, but the quality just isn’t there. We see another bump on Friday the 17th with 5ft to 5ft WNW swell, kicking combined energy up to 373–389, but the wind is either cross-on or onshore, so it’ll be choppy and messy. That’s too big for beginners and only really for the experienced crew willing to battle the wind.
Look, the one true standout is Friday morning, July 3rd. After that, it’s a long, dry spell of poor conditions. Adraga has a few days where the swell’s got size, but the wind just ruins it. If you’re holding out hope, the weekend of July 17th might see a more promising setup if the wind cooperates—but as of now, it’s a long-range maybe.
Stay patient, keep an eye on the charts, and I’ll see you out there when it cleans up.
Rusty.
