Table - best surf conditions forecast for Zurriola hondartza over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what the next couple of weeks are serving up.
Honestly, it’s a flat spell for the most part. We’ve got a long stretch of tiny, weak, and messy conditions ahead, so don’t get too excited. The only time the ocean shows a bit of life is around Friday the 10th, but even that is pretty ordinary.
The water is sitting at a very unusual 76°F with a massive anomaly of 8°F warmer than normal for this time of year, so you'll be comfortable in a shorty or even just boardies.
The first real chance to get wet is on Friday morning, July 10th at Zurriola hondartza. We’re looking at a small 3 ft NW swell with a mix of angles and a short 9-second period, so the energy is just moderate at best (131). The morning is glassy, though, which is a massive positive for cleaning up such weak surf. It’s not going to blow your mind, but if you’re desperate, that’s the window. Expect crowds there, as it’s a popular spot and it’s the only game in town.
After that, it’s basically back to nothing. A few scattered mornings show the odd 2 ft to 3 ft wave, like on Sunday the 12th when a light SE offshore gives a clean look (99 energy), but the swell is still tiny and inconsistent. The rest of the days are filled with onshore or cross-onshore breezes and tiny windswell.
From the 14th of July onward, the energy drops right off a cliff, with combined energy figures in the single digits and teens. The waves barely reach 2 ft. You’ll see glassy mornings on Monday the 20th and Wednesday the 22nd, but with only 1 ft to 2 ft on offer, it’s basically flat. For the whole 16-day outlook, there’s not a single standout day worth chasing.
For this area, it’s just one of those blank runs. The forecasts can always change, but right now it looks like you’re better off saving the wax for another time.
