Table - best surf conditions forecast for Karramarro over the next 16 days.
Alright, listen up. Rusty here, and I’ve been staring at the charts for our little slice of coast. To be honest, it’s a bit of a slow burn for the next week or so, but there’s a proper pulse brewing out in the deep for the second week that’s got my attention. Let’s break it down.
First off, the water temp is sitting pretty normal for this time of year, so no need to worry about a nasty wetsuit call.
We’re starting with a long, flat, and frustrating stretch. From Sunday the 12th through Wednesday the 19th, it’s a write-off for any decent paddle. We’re talking ankle-snappers and knee-high slop, with the combined energy barely cracking 100 (mostly in the 60s and 70s, even down to single digits). The wind is all over the shop, mostly cross-on or glassy, but it doesn’t matter because there’s just no push. Don’t even bother waxing the board for this run.
Then, things get interesting. There’s a gap of a few days with no real recommendations, but on Monday the 20th, the ocean finally wakes up. We see a jump in the swell, and the standout here is Karramarro on Monday afternoon. It’s a point break, and it’s not a spot that’s always firing. The swell jumps to 7 ft from the NW with a period of 7 seconds, but the combined energy hits 437 – that’s a moderate, solid push. The real kicker? The wind goes glassy, dead calm. It’ll be clean. Now, this is an advanced spot, it’s inconsistent, and it can get crowded, so keep your head on a swivel. That size is getting into expert territory, so it’s not for the learners.
Tuesday the 21st brings a monster pulse. It’s big, but the conditions are a bit more mixed. The morning has 10 ft NW swell, with a period of 9 seconds and a massive combined energy of 1370 (strong to very strong). The wind is light cross-shore, making it manageable but not perfect. This is big-wave territory, experts only. The afternoon is similar, with the same 10 ft swell but a light cross-onshore breeze adding a bit of texture.
After that, the swell backs off. Wednesday the 22nd still has a solid 7 ft NW swell with a clean cross-off breeze, but the energy dips to 816. Still a decent wave, but the really big stuff is fading. By Thursday the 23rd, the morning offers 5 ft with glassy conditions and a combined energy of 244 – it’s surfable, but the energy is dropping. The rest of the week into the 27th looks like it slips back into small, weak conditions with poor energy readings (under 100).
So, if you’re looking for the one true standout, set your alarm for Monday afternoon, the 20th of July. That’s the window where a decent groundswell meets glassy, clean conditions at Karramarro. It’s a rare, inconsistent spot coming to life, and that’s worth the trip.
Stay stoked, and keep an eye on the horizon.
