Surf Forecasts:
Alright, Rusty here.
Let’s get straight into it. Looking at the full 16-day window for Racine, I’m not gonna sugar-coat it—this is a tough one. There’s a big, fat dry spell on the cards. From the start of the forecast right through to the end, we’ve got nothing but flat lines. Every single surf report over the next couple of weeks shows zero swell energy (0). That means no rideable waves, no matter where you look.
The first recommendation doesn’t even pop up until the end of the period, and even then, there’s nothing to sink your fins into. In fact, the first possible surf slot is on Friday, July 24th, but there’s still no swell on offer. It’s a frustrating run.
Water temperature is sitting at 68°F at the start, which is about 4.5°F warmer than average for this time of year—that’s pretty unusual. The lake is feeling more like a bathtub than a wave machine. The wind is all over the place too, but that doesn’t matter much when there’s zero height to work with.
For a spot like Racine that’s normally fairly consistent, this kind of blank run is not the norm. But when the combined swell energy is sitting at zip for day after day, there’s just nothing to get excited about. It’s almost more of a kite-surfing setup on some of those breezier afternoons, but for us paddle surfers, it’s a waiting game.
Hang in there, fellas. Forecasts can change.
