Table - best surf conditions forecast for Praia do Meio over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s break down the next couple of weeks.
It’s a slow start. The first real surf we see isn’t until Monday, July 13th, and it’s nothing to write home about. From July 13th all the way through to the early part of July 28th, it’s a long stretch of onshore winds, choppy water, and weak, small swells. A real grind.
The only moment that looks like it could deliver is Tuesday, July 28th, in the morning. Praia do Meio shows a pulse of 3ft of SSE swell with a 19-second period – that’s very long-period groundswell. The combined energy of all swells directed here is strong (1069). Being a river mouth, that long period should bend in nicely. The wind is a gentle cross-off, so the surface should be clean. It’s a long way out, so keep an eye on it, but it’s the only real highlight. It can get crowded (sometimes) when it’s on.
Water temp is 80°, which is about normal for this time of year.
The rest of the second week is more of the same – small, onshore, unappealing. This one’s for the die-hards.
Rusty.
