Right now, it's a tough stretch. We're looking at a long, dry spell with no real surf on the cards for the next week. From Friday the 7th through to Thursday the 13th, the conditions are just poor. The first sign of life comes on Friday the 14th. It's still marginal, but we start to see a pulse of south swell pushing through. The combined energy climbs to 905 (moderate), which is a step in the right direction. The wind is a gentle cross-onshore from the east at 9 mph, so the surface won't be perfect, but it's a start.

The real standout, and the best shot you'll get in this 16-day window, is the morning of Saturday the 15th. We get a solid south swell at 6 ft with a long period of 16 seconds – that's proper groundswell energy. The combined energy hits 1703 (strong to very strong wave energy). The wind is a moderate cross-shore from the northeast at 12 mph, which will put a bit of texture on the face but is much better than the onshore junk we've been dealing with. This is a river mouth break, so that long-period swell could really line up. Keep in mind, with 6 ft and that kind of juice, it's getting into the intermediate zone, not for total beginners. It's a fairly consistent break, and crowds are possible here, so expect some company.

The afternoon of the 15th takes a turn as the wind swings onshore and freshens, chopping it up. The energy is still there at 1648, but the quality drops hard.

Sunday the 16th morning sees the swell drop back to 4 ft, but the wind goes light cross-shore again from the northeast. The energy is 809. It's a more manageable size, but still a long-period south swell at 13 seconds. It'll be a bit more relaxed.

After that, we're back into the doldrums with poor conditions and small, weak swell through the rest of the second week. The water temperature is sitting at 80°F, which is about average for this time of year, so no surprises there.

So, to sum it up: the first week is a total write-off. The clear window to aim for is the morning of the 15th for the best chance at a proper wave, with the morning of the 16th as a smaller, more manageable backup.
