Table - best surf conditions forecast for Boilers over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s talk Boilers. This is a reef break, open to the west-northwest, and it’s a consistent spot – but that doesn’t mean it’s always pumping. Water temp is about 69°, pretty normal for this time of year.
Sunday the 12th is a total washout – poor conditions, cross-shore breeze, no surf to speak of. Monday morning the 13th gives you a little hope with glassy conditions and a 4ft NW swell at 9 seconds, but the score is low and the afternoon goes to crap. Tuesday and Wednesday are just cross-shore chop and weak, short-period waves.
Thursday morning the 16th is the first real bright spot. Dead calm, glassy, 6ft NNW swell, still a bit short at 7 seconds, but it’s clean. The combined energy is moderate (358). Not massive, but clean reef waves are worth it. Friday morning the 17th is similar – 5ft NW swell, glassy, calm.
Saturday morning the 18th keeps it going – 6ft NNW swell, glassy, moderate energy (401). All afternoons are blown out, so mornings are the move.
From Sunday the 19th into the next week, the swell gets bigger but the wind gets mean. You’re looking at 8ft to 10ft NNW swell with strong cross-shore winds, making it lumpy. The combined energy hits 1173 on Sunday afternoon – that’s strong, but for paddle surfing it’s a mess. The beach setup might be better for kite surfing than a paddle session.
The real standout is Friday morning the 24th. Glassy, 8ft NNW swell, period 8 seconds, and the combined energy is a very strong 1008. The data says “excellent surf conditions for experienced surfers” – and that’s it. Big, clean, powerful reef waves. Only for experts – 8ft is serious.
After that, Saturday the 25th has some size, 10ft on the afternoon, but with a light cross-onshore, it’s not as clean. Sunday the 26th morning drops to 5ft with glassy conditions, a nice little end.
So, the best is Friday morning the 24th at Boilers – big, glassy, and powerful. If you’re not an expert, aim for the Thursday or Friday mornings the week before, when it’s smaller and still clean. There’s a gap from Sunday the 12th to Wednesday the 15th with nothing worthwhile, but after that, the mornings are your best bet.
Rusty.
