Table - best surf conditions forecast for Boilers over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s on the menu for the next couple of weeks.
We’re starting with a bit of a flat spell, so don’t get too excited just yet. The first real chance to get wet doesn’t come until the morning of Monday, 13th July. Before that, it’s all small, messy, and not worth paddling out for.
Monday, 13th July is when things start to turn. We’ve got clean, glassy conditions at Boilers first thing. The swell is a modest 4 ft from the NW with a nice 9-second period, and the water is sitting at 70°, pretty much bang on average for this time of year. The combined energy is moderate (208), so there’s a bit of life in the water. It’s a super consistent reef break, so it’ll be working, but it’s an advanced wave, so you’ll want to be on your game. The wind is dead calm, making for some tidy, clean waves. This is a solid morning session.
The next standout is Thursday, 16th July morning. We’ve got another glassy morning, with the swell pushing 6 ft from the NNW. The period is short at 7 seconds, so it’ll be a bit lumpy and less organised, but the energy is strong (375). It’s a bit of a heavyweight for a short-period swell, so keep your wits about you. Still, clean conditions on a consistent reef like this are always worth a look.
Friday, 17th July morning is a beauty. Glassy, dead calm, with a 7 ft NNW swell. The energy is now proper strong (451). The period is still short at 8 seconds, so it’ll be a bit of a grunty, close-out wave at most spots, but on a reef like Boilers, it might just line up nicely. This is one for the experienced crew.
Saturday, 18th July morning is another glassy session, with a 7 ft NNW swell. More of the same, really – strong energy (461), clean conditions, but it’s a short-period swell, so it’s punchy and fast.
Now, the real highlight of this whole forecast is Sunday, 19th July morning. We’re looking at a 8 ft NNW swell with a very strong energy reading (737). The wind is a light, glassy northerly, so the surface will be clean. The period is still short at 8 seconds, so it’s going to be a powerful, ledgy wave. This is going to be a serious session for the advanced crew – the kind of morning you wake up early for. It’s a very consistent break, so you’ll get waves, but with that size and quality, expect the crowds to be around.
After that, we have a few more good mornings. Tuesday, 21st July morning is glassy, with a smaller 5 ft swell from the same direction. The energy is moderate (322). It’s a step down in size, but it’ll be a lot more manageable.
Wednesday, 22nd July morning is also glassy, with a 4 ft swell. Clean, smaller, and a good option if the big stuff is too much.
The next big one to keep an eye on is Sunday, 26th July morning. This is a long-range call, so take it with a pinch of salt, but it looks promising. We’re talking a 8 ft NNW swell with a 8-second period, and the energy is huge (1078). The wind is forecast to be calm, dead glassy. This is a big, powerful, clean swell, and the forecast confidence is decent for a week out. It’s the kind of day that gets the blood pumping, but it’s strictly for the experts.
So, in short: the best bets are the mornings of Friday 17th, Saturday 18th, and Sunday 19th July, with the Sunday 19th being the standout. And if you’re looking further ahead, keep Sunday 26th July pencilled in.
Rusty out.
