Alright folks, Rusty here. Gotta be straight with you – it’s a grim stretch ahead for the local waves. I’ve scanned the whole 16-day window and there’s just nothing worth getting excited about. The swell is tiny, the energy is non-existent, and the conditions are just flat or messy. It’s one of those periods where you’re better off leaving the boards in the shed.

Let’s run through it. The first bit of hope, if you can call it that, is a tiny pulse on Sunday the 12th. La Marina sees a small 2.3ft swell from the east with a short, weak period of 4 seconds. The combined energy is a measly 23 (weak). The wind is onshore from the ESE at 9 mph, so it’s going to be bumpy and poor. The water is a warm 80.6°, which is a whopping 9.5° warmer than normal for this time of year – seriously unusual, but it won’t help the surf.

After that, it’s a flat spell. From Monday the 13th right through to Friday the 25th, we’re looking at a long stretch of nothing. There are a few mornings with glassy conditions, like Tuesday the 16th morning and Sunday the 19th morning, with light northerly winds and no wind, but the swell is either zero or so small it’s not worth paddling out for. The wave heights are mostly 0.7ft or less, with periods of 3 to 6 seconds. The energy readings are all in the single digits (1 to 9) – that’s a flat ocean, plain and simple. A few afternoons have onshore winds, but without any swell, it’s just a waste.

The only break in the file is La Marina, a reef break that’s inconsistent and often crowded. It’s an exposed spot, but it needs a decent swell from the ESE to work. We’re not getting that. Even on Saturday the 25th, when we see a tiny uptick in energy to 9 (still weak) with a 1.3ft swell from the ENE, the wind is onshore. It’s just not happening.

Honestly, for a region like this, a blank run of this length is pretty normal when the charts are this quiet. It’s a waiting game. Forecasts can change, but right now, there’s nothing to recommend. Don’t waste your time.
