Table - best surf conditions forecast for Kihei Cove over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s get into this one. We’ve got a solid run of small but clean south-west swell lining up for Kihei Cove. Don’t expect any barrels, but for a beginner-friendly reef setup, it’s about as good as it gets around here. The water temp is sitting pretty average for this time of year, so no surprises there.
Kicking off right now, Saturday July 11th, we’ve got a lovely 2ft to 2ft swell from the SW pushing in with a very long 18-second period. That’s proper groundswell energy, and with a gentle offshore breeze from the NE all day, it’ll be clean and fun. The combined energy is moderate at 270, building to 309 in the afternoon. Perfect for a longboard or a foamie.
Sunday July 12th carries on the same vibe – 2ft SW swell, still with that long 16-second period. Morning is clear with a light offshore, and the afternoon gets a bit breezier but still offshore and clean. Energy sits around 319, so it’s actually picking up a touch.
Monday July 13th is a mixed bag. Morning looks ordinary with a moderate offshore, but the afternoon cleans right up with a gentle breeze and energy jumping to 325. Still 2ft from the SW, period dropping a bit to 15 seconds. Worth a session if you’re keen.
Now, Tuesday July 14th is a standout. The morning is glassy – literally no wind, just a slight air from the WNW. Swell holds at 2ft, period 14 seconds, but the energy bumps to 333. The afternoon stays clean with a light offshore. That morning glass is the pick of the week so far.
Wednesday July 15th is another beauty. Glassy conditions again in the morning, and then in the afternoon it goes dead calm – zero wind, glassy as a mirror. Swell is 2ft from the W, period 15 seconds, and the energy is strong at 542. That afternoon session is the absolute best on offer. If you can get out there, do it.
Thursday July 16th keeps the glassy run going. Both morning and afternoon are glassy, swell 2ft from the W and then swinging SSW, period 13-14 seconds. Energy stays high, around 492 and 451. Really clean, really fun.
Friday July 17th sees a drop in quality. Winds go cross-off, swell drops to 2ft-2ft, and the energy falls to the 250s. Still surfable, but it’s ordinary compared to the days before.
The weekend of July 18th and 19th is a bit of a lull. Swell drops to 1ft-2ft, energy is weak, only around 140-230. Winds are offshore but it’s just not got the push.
Monday July 20th is the lowest point – 1ft south swell, energy down to 132-163. The run of better days is over for now.
But hold on, Tuesday July 21st shows a return. Afternoon has 3ft from the S, period 14 seconds, energy 328, and a light offshore. That’s the first sign of a new pulse.
Wednesday July 22nd and Thursday July 23rd are mixed, with some clean but small surf. Then Friday July 24th morning brings a nice spike – 2ft SSW swell, very long 18-second period, energy at 370, and a gentle offshore. That’s another potential standout, though it’s a week and a half out, so keep an eye on it.
The final weekend, July 25th and 26th, ends the run with clean conditions again. Sunday July 26th morning is glassy with a 2ft SSW swell, period 14 seconds, energy 338. A solid way to close out the forecast.
Overall, the clear winners are Wednesday July 15th afternoon with that dead glass and strong energy, and Tuesday July 14th morning for the glassy start. After that, Friday July 24th morning looks promising but it’s further out. Crowds at Kihei Cove can be often, so expect company on the good days.
Stay stoked,
Rusty
