Table - best surf conditions forecast for Hullets Reef over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s break down what’s in store for the next couple of weeks at our main spot.
The action starts Friday, July 10th with a solid pulse. A 10 ft SSW groundswell with a 13-second period, packing some serious energy (3402 – moderate to strong). Hullets Reef is gonna be working, but 10 ft is big for this beginner-friendly break. This one’s for the experienced crew only. Water temp is 65°F, about average for this time of year. The wind is a light cross-offshore from the south at 6 mph, keeping the surface clean. This is the first standout – heavy and clean.
Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th are a bust. Onshore winds move in, the swell drops, and it gets messy. Stay home.
Monday the 13th is small, but the afternoon offers a clean window. Wind goes offshore from the SW, surf is 4 ft, and it’s clean. Not big, but it’s a chance.
Tuesday the 14th morning is a glassy gem – no wind, 5 ft from the ESE. The period is short at 8 seconds, so it won’t have much push, but with glassy conditions, you’ll find a few fun ones.
Wednesday the 15th is windy, but a new swell is building. The real standout comes Thursday the 16th: another 10 ft SW groundswell, this time with a 14-second period. Energy is 3690 (strong). Wind is a moderate cross-offshore from the west at 9 mph. Powerful and clean – experts only, but this is the best of the run.
Friday the 17th through Monday the 20th is a mixed bag of onshore winds and fading swell. Crowds are “sometimes” an issue here, but the wind will keep most people off.
Then we hit a flat spell. Tuesday the 21st and Wednesday the 22nd morning are tiny – 2 ft to 3 ft. Bring a longboard or don’t bother.
Wednesday the 22nd afternoon is a nice surprise: offshore wind from the SW, 5 ft of clean swell with a 13-second period. Energy is 794 (moderate). Small but clean.
Thursday the 23rd brings a monster: 12 ft of SW swell with a 14-second period, energy at 7355 (very strong). But the wind is onshore from the ENE at 9 mph, so it’s gonna be a blown-out beast. Better suited for kites than paddles unless you find a sheltered spot.
The last two days, Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th, finish strong. Friday morning is clean with a light offshore from the SSW, 8 ft of SW swell. Saturday morning is even better: light offshore from the WSW, 7 ft, going glassy by the afternoon. Consistent and clean, with moderate energy (1426 and 1286). A solid second standout for the experienced crowd.
Key takeaways: Friday the 10th and Thursday the 16th are the big, clean groundswell days for experts. The cleanup crew arrives Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th. The first week is where the real quality sits.
Rusty.
