Table - best surf conditions forecast for Super Tubes over the next 16 days.
Hey crew, Rusty here. Let's break down what this stretch of water has in store. It's a slow burner that turns into a proper beast by the second week.
All the action is at Super Tubes, a reef and point that fires on a SW swell and is super consistent.
The water is sitting at 64°, which is 3° colder than normal for the season – it's a bit chilly, so don't forget the hood.
Monday is a no-go. Onshore wind and poor surf. Bag it.
Tuesday 14th is where we start. The morning is tiny, just 2ft and glassy. The real gem is the afternoon: still tiny at 2ft, but the wind goes offshore and clean. The combined energy is weak (88), but for a clean little wave after work, it's all you need.
Wednesday 15th is similar. The morning is 1ft and glassy. The afternoon bumps to 3ft with a nice 12-second period, offshore wind, and moderate energy (487). It's small, but it'll be fun and clean.
Now, the first highlight. Thursday 16th. For the big dogs, this is it. The morning is glassy, 10ft of SW swell with a very long 14-second period and strong wave energy (3186). The afternoon is just as clean – glassy, 8ft with a 13-second period (2254 energy). This is a proper groundswell. At a reef and point, it will be world-class, but at this size, it's experts only.
Friday 17th is still chunky at 10ft, but the wind is a fresh offshore 35 km/h, which makes it a handful.
The weekend gets messy. Saturday 18th and Monday 20th are blown out with onshore wind. Sunday 19th afternoon gives a glimmer – 4ft with moderate offshore wind (680 energy) – but it's still gusty.
Then we get the big one. This is the date to save: Wednesday 22nd. The morning is an absolute dream – glassy, 11-12ft of SW swell, a 14-second period, and very strong energy (4864). The afternoon hits a massive 16ft with insane 14462 energy. The wind is a gentle cross-onshore, but the power here is off the charts. Lifeguards only.
Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th keep pumping with 11-15ft of SW swell and clean offshore/cross-off winds in the afternoons. The energy is massive (3399 to 6199). More expert territory.
The final push is Saturday 25th with a fun 5ft and a moderate offshore (1031 energy). Sunday 26th is a complete mess with 40 km/h cross-shore wind, and the following week looks like a flat, blown-out mess through to the 28th.
So, the standout days are Thursday 16th for a glassy, powerful session, and the absolute peak is the morning of Wednesday 22nd – glassy, massive, and unforgettable. The second week brings the size, but bring your courage.
Go get some.
Rusty.
