Table - best surf conditions forecast for Super Tubes over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s coming down the pipe for Super Tubes.
We’ve got a bit of a slow start, but don’t let that fool you. The first real action kicks off on Saturday the 11th of July. Saturday morning is the standout early call. We’re looking at a solid 10ft SSW groundswell with a 12-second period, and the wind is glassy from the NE. The water is sitting at 64°, which is a bit colder than normal for this time of year, so you might want an extra layer. The combined energy is pumping at 2540, and the conditions are excellent for experienced surfers. This is a reef and point break that is very consistent, so expect a proper session. It’s an advanced wave, and it’s often crowded, so get in early.
Saturday afternoon sees the wind shift to a light cross-onshore, and the swell drops a touch to 8ft. It’s still surfable, but the quality drops off. Sunday the 12th is a write-off with onshore winds and rain showers. Monday the 13th morning has a glassy 4ft SSW swell, but it’s weak with only 305 energy. Tuesday and Wednesday are small and weak, with nothing to get excited about.
Now, here’s where it gets interesting. Thursday the 16th of July morning brings a proper pulse: 10ft SW groundswell with a 14-second period, moderate offshore wind from the W, and a massive 3293 energy reading. This is for experienced surfers only. The wind picks up in the afternoon, but it’s still clean. Friday the 17th is even bigger, with 15ft SW swell and a 12-13 second period, but the wind is cross-offshore. The energy is through the roof at 6609. This is big, powerful, and only for the well-prepared. Saturday the 18th is blown out with strong onshore winds, so give that a miss.
The following week has a few promising windows. Wednesday the 22nd of July afternoon looks good with a 6ft SSW groundswell and gentle offshore wind. Then Friday the 24th of July morning is a standout: 8ft SSW groundswell, glassy conditions, and 1974 energy. Saturday the 25th afternoon also looks excellent with 8ft SW swell and clean offshore wind. Sunday the 26th has a very long 15-second period SSW swell at 7-8ft, but the wind is cross-offshore. The energy is huge at 2756, but that long period might make it a bit straight at the beach, though this is a reef and point setup, so it should handle it well.
Overall, the best bets are Saturday the 11th morning, Thursday the 16th morning, and Friday the 24th morning. The big stuff on the 17th is for experts only.
Rusty.
