Table - best surf conditions forecast for Super Tubes over the next 16 days.
Right, let’s talk about the next couple of weeks. The only real player on the board is Super Tubes, a heavy reef and point setup that demands respect. It’s very consistent here, and the water’s running a bit colder than normal for this time of year, sitting at 64°F, which is a couple of degrees off the mark. You’ll feel that.
The first session worth paddling out for kicks off Friday afternoon, July 10th. We’ve got a solid 12ft SSW groundswell with a 13-second period, pumping a massive 3597 combined energy units. The wind is glassy, light SW at 3 mph. It’ll be clean. This is proper, powerful stuff – advanced surfers only, as it’s well over the 8ft mark. It’s a standout.
Saturday morning, July 11th, the swell drops to 10ft from the same direction, but the wind swings to a light E at 6 mph, making it onshore. The energy is still high at 2540, but it’s not as clean. Saturday afternoon, the swell is 8ft, but the wind turns cross-onshore from the NE. It’s a bit of a messy drop-off from the day before.
Sunday the 12th sees the swell fade to 6ft and then 5ft with onshore winds and a risk of thunderstorms. Energy drops to 899 and 584. Not worth getting wet.
Monday morning, July 13th, is a brief reprieve. The swell is only 4ft, but the wind is glassy NW at 3 mph, and the energy is low at 313. It’s small, but clean. Afternoon picks up a clean 4ft with cross-off winds.
The middle of the week, Tuesday and Wednesday, July 14-15, is small and weak. Tuesday morning is tiny 2ft and glassy, but the energy is only 119. Wednesday afternoon sees a jump to 6ft from the SW, with a clean offshore wind at 9 mph, and energy climbs to 619. It’s a small window of quality.
Then, hold onto your board. Thursday morning, July 16th, fires up. A solid 10ft SW groundswell, 14-second period, with clean cross-off wind. That’s 3615 units of energy. Thursday afternoon is the same, but with a clean offshore breeze. This is the second true standout – powerful, big, and for experts only.
Friday, July 17th, the swell holds at 7ft to 8ft with fresh offshore winds, but it’s a bit lumpy. Energy is still strong at 1229 and 1609, but the quality is marginal.
The next few days into the following week get messy. Saturday, July 18th, the swell is 7ft to 7ft, but the wind is onshore and strong, creating poor conditions. Sunday the 19th is similar, but Sunday afternoon the wind drops to glassy, and the swell is 6ft from the SSE, with 1357 energy. That’s a sneaky clean session.
Monday, July 20th, has clean offshore winds, but the swell is down to 4ft, with energy at 585. Tuesday, July 21st, is tiny and onshore.
Now, a big one brewing. Wednesday, July 22nd, morning is glassy with a 6ft SSW groundswell, 13-second period, and 1516 energy. That’s a clean, solid session. But the real monster is Thursday, July 23rd morning. A massive 12ft SW swell, 14-second period, pumping a staggering 7693 energy units. The wind is light onshore, so it might be a bit lumpy on the face, but the raw power is insane. This is for the brave, a big standout that’s promising but a week and a half out.
The last few days, July 24-25, settle into a solid, clean 7ft to 8ft SW groundswell with light offshore winds. Consistent, clean, and a good way to wrap it all up.
Overall, the best of the best are Friday afternoon, July 10th, and Thursday morning, July 23rd, for the sheer size and power. The sweet spot for quality and size without the absolute max is Thursday July 16th and Wednesday July 22nd.
