Table - best surf conditions forecast for Fingal Point and Beach over the next 16 days.
G’day, I’m Rusty.
Alright, let’s talk about Fingal Point and Beach. The next couple of weeks aren’t exactly firing – we get one real sweet spot early on, but then it drops away into a long stretch of small, messy surf. If you’re looking to get wet, the window is tight.
The best session is Saturday the 11th in the morning. The wind drops to glassy, the water feels about average for this time of year, and we’ve got a clean, long-period groundswell out of the ESE pushing about 3 ft at 13 seconds. Combined swell energy is moderate at 195. It’s not tall, but the glassy surface and that long period mean smooth, lined-up waves peeling along the point. Crowds can pop up sometimes, so an early paddle is a good move. The point handles that ESE swell nicely.
Saturday afternoon bumps up a little to around 4 ft from the ESE, still with a nice 12-second period, but the wind turns light cross-onshore. Still rideable, just not as crisp.
Sunday the 12th is your next call – clean cross-off breeze out of the NW, a swell of 4 ft from the SE at 10 seconds, and moderate energy at 253. Decent shape, but won’t match the glassy Saturday session.
Then it all goes quiet. Monday the 13th morning gives you a tiny 2 ft glassy set from the ESE with only 55 energy, just enough for a limp wave. After that, from Tuesday onward, we’re looking at wave heights under 2 ft for the most part, with a lot of cross-shore wind, onshore wind, and rain. Many days show zero rideable surf or just wind slop. The energy numbers barely get into double digits.
So, bottom line: make it happen Saturday the 11th morning. That’s the standout. After that, you’re looking at a long flat patch with nothing much to offer.
Rusty.
