Table - best surf conditions forecast for Falmouth - Swanpool over the next 16 days.
Alright, folks. Rusty here. Let’s break down the next couple of weeks at Falmouth - Swanpool.
First thing, the water is sitting at about 63°F, which is a touch warmer than usual for this time of year. That’s a nice little bonus if you’re in the water. But for the first week, the surf is a total bust. We’ve got a solid eight days of poor conditions, starting Thursday the 9th of July, with tiny swell and mostly cross or cross-onshore winds. It’s not worth getting your wetsuit wet.
The only real window shows up late on Wednesday, the 15th of July. The swell builds to about 8ft from the east, and the wind swings to the west at 9 mph, giving us a clean cross-off breeze. The wave energy is moderate, and the waves should be shaping up nicely. This is a decent window for a beginner-friendly spot, but at 8ft, it’s starting to get a bit too big for absolute beginners. Thursday the 16th still holds some clean offshore wind in the morning with about 6ft easterly swell, but the energy fades.
After that, from Friday the 17th onwards, the swell drops right back to tiny, knee-high nothing. There’s a long gap of flat, messy conditions right through to the end of the 24th. The second week is a total write-off.
So, here’s the call: your best bet is the afternoon of Wednesday, the 15th of July. Get in the water before the wind shifts, because after that, it’s back to the long wait.
Rusty.
