Table - best surf conditions forecast for Brighton over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you – this 16-day stretch for the Brighton area is a flat spell, plain and simple. We’re looking at a long, quiet run with no decent surf on offer for the foreseeable future. The first few days have nothing at all, and the pattern just doesn’t change.
From Sunday the 12th right through the week, it’s all tiny dribbles and junk. The wind is mostly a fresh cross-off or cross-shore breeze, but the swell is barely a ripple. The combined energy is weak, barely registering (2). There’s a tiny bump of 2ft from the east on Wednesday the 15th morning, but with a period of only 3 seconds, it’s just wind chop and not worth paddling out for. The cross-shore wind won’t help either.
The whole second week looks similar. A few small pulses appear, like a 2ft from the SW on Saturday the 18th morning, but the period is short (5 seconds) and the energy is still low (23). The wind is light and cross-onshore, so it’ll be messy. Later, around Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th, we see a little more energy (35 on the 25th morning) with a 2ft swell from the WSW, but the period is still short (5 seconds) and the wind is not ideal. These are all poor surf conditions.
Honestly, Brighton is inconsistent here, and these blank runs are normal for the area. There’s nothing to get excited about. If you’re desperate for a splash, the absolute best you’ll see is a tiny knee-high wave, but it’s not going to be clean or have any push. The setup looks more interesting for a kite surfer than a paddle surfer on days like Wednesday the 24th afternoon when the wind is cross-onshore and the swell is a bit bigger.
Stay patient, keep an eye on the forecasts, and maybe the next window will bring something. Until then, it’s a no-go.
Rusty.
