Table - best surf conditions forecast for Schnappers Point over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s see what’s on the table for our stretch of coast. Gotta be straight with you – this outlook is a long, flat spell with barely a ripple worth paddling for. The first week is a write-off, and the second week doesn’t offer much more. We’re looking at over a week with virtually no surfable waves to start.
The only spot with a pulse on the charts is Schnappers Point (a point break that’s fairly consistent, but it’s looking bleak). For the first recommendation, water temp is 55°F, which is basically normal for this time of year.
The only time we even see a tiny window is Tuesday afternoon, July 14th. That afternoon, a weak 4 ft swell from the NNW rolls in, with a short period of 8 seconds. Combined swell energy is moderate (242), but the wind is onshore from the NNW at 3 mph, making conditions marginal. It’s a poor-quality, messy option and honestly not worth getting wet for.
After that, it’s a wasteland. From Thursday the 16th all the way through to Sunday the 26th of July, the energy readings are all below 100 (mostly between 0 and 50), with zero height on many days. There are occasional tiny 0.3 ft pulses from the north with periods over 15 seconds, but that’s not breaking with any punch on a point break setup.
There’s a hint of something on Sunday morning, July 26th – a 1 ft, 6-second NNW swell with glassy conditions (combined swell energy of 11), but that’s still “poor surf conditions.” The last snapshot, Tuesday morning July 28th, shows a 2 ft, 7-second N swell with glassy wind, but again the energy is weak (38), and it’s still flagged as poor.
There is no standout here, no day that calls for a session. This is one of those stretches where the ocean just switches off.
Rusty.
