Table - best surf conditions forecast for Stent Road over the next 16 days.
Right, grab a coffee, let’s get into it. This is Rusty, and I’ve been staring at the charts for Stent Road. This is a proper reef and point setup, and it’s not messing around – it’s for advanced surfers only. The water temp is sitting at 59°, which is a touch warmer than usual for this time of year, about a degree and a half above average, so it’s not a total shock to the system.
The next week and a half is a bit of a mixed bag, but there’s some serious firepower in there. The first few days are a write-off, honestly. Thursday the 9th is a complete no-go with a screaming 31 mph cross-off wind and a huge, junky 12 ft swell. That’s a massive amount of energy (6461) and it’s just not surfable. Friday the 10th is still messy with a strong breeze, so we’re looking at a gap of a couple of days before things start to turn.
The first real standout window opens up on Saturday the 11th. The morning sees a clean 5 ft swell from the WSW with a long 15-second period, but the wind is a light cross-off from the SE. It’s good, clean, but the energy is still building. The real pick of the weekend is Sunday the 12th. We’ve got a light offshore breeze from the ENE, clean 6 ft swell from the WSW, and the energy is solid (1397). This is your best bet for the near term – clean, punchy waves for the experienced crew. It’s a consistent spot, so expect a few others out, but it’s worth it.
Now, we hit a bit of a lull Monday and Tuesday. The swell drops, and the wind gets messy. It’s not looking good.
But hold on to your boardies, because the next standout is Thursday the 16th. The morning is glassy – absolutely dead calm – with an 8 ft, 15-second groundswell from the WSW. The energy is pumping (2749). This is a big, powerful swell for the experts. The wave shape will be proper on this reef, but that long period can make it a bit straight at times. It’s a Thursday, so it might be quieter for crowds, but it’s a serious session.
The second week really kicks off with a bang. Wednesday the 23rd is looking like the absolute best of the run. The morning has a clean offshore from the E, a solid 8 ft swell from the WSW, and the combined energy is massive at 3388. This is a big, powerful, clean swell. It’s a true standout for the forecast period, but being that far out, it’s a promising call rather than a guarantee. The afternoon holds up too, with a lighter cross-off. This is the one to circle on the calendar. Thursday the 24th also offers a clean offshore wind and a solid 5 ft, but it’s a step down in energy.
So, to sum it up: Sunday the 12th is your reliable, clean weekend session. But the big, raw power is waiting for you on the morning of Wednesday the 23rd, if you’re ready for it. The rest of the time is a mix of wind and swell, but the consistency of this spot means it won’t stay flat for long.
Rusty.
