Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, let’s break it down. Stent Road is a heavy reef and point break, advanced only. Water temp is about normal for this time of year – no anomalies.
Sunday morning the 5th is trash – choppy cross-on wind, messy 2.1m WNW swell. But Sunday afternoon? That’s the turnaround. Light offshore wind from the ENE, a 1.2m WSW swell with a very long 16-second period, clean as a whistle. Energy is strong (1157). First real standout.
Monday the 6th brings serious size. Morning: 3.0m WSW swell, offshore E wind at 25 km/h, energy at 3489. Expert territory – clean, but massive. Afternoon stays solid with 3.0m and a 16-second period, cross-off wind.
Tuesday the 7th stays in the zone: 2.5m WSW groundswell at 15 seconds, light cross-off, energy at 3130. Clean but still big.
Wednesday the 8th and Thursday the 9th switch to a shorter-period S swell (8 seconds). Not as good shape, more cross-off wind, energy moderate to strong but quality drops.
The top standout of the first week: Thursday afternoon the 9th. Long-period WSW groundswell at 2.4m, 14 seconds, light cross-off wind. Energy at 4100. Beautiful and powerful.
Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th fade out – smaller, windier, less interesting.
Sunday the 12th morning delivers again: light offshore E wind, 1.7m WSW groundswell at 15 seconds, clean. A good solid session.
Monday the 13th is small and weak.
Then Tuesday the 14th goes huge. Morning is a write-off with cross-on wind and 4.0m slop. Afternoon: 5.5m swell, 11-second period, energy at 8211 – clean enough for the madmen. Wednesday the 15th is even bigger: 4.0m at 14 seconds, energy at 10747. Thursday the 16th is the absolute best: morning glassy, 3.5m at 16 seconds (5743). Afternoon: 4.5m at 16 seconds, glassy, energy at 9540. This is the peak for experts.
Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th are nasty – onshore wind, huge messy waves (5-6m), stay out.
Sunday the 19th morning cleans up: light offshore ESE wind, 3.0m WSW groundswell at 13 seconds, energy at 3166. Nice return to form.
Monday the 20th fades back down.
The two absolute best windows: Thursday afternoon the 9th and Thursday the 16th afternoon – both for advanced surfers only. Expect crowds often.
Rusty.
