Table - best surf conditions forecast for Fitzroy Beach over the next 16 days.
Right, this is Rusty. Only Fitzroy Beach on the radar for this entire 16-day stretch, so we’ll take a good look at what’s coming.
And it kicks off strong. Saturday July 11th morning: clean 4ft swell out of the WSW, with a solid 15-second period (combined energy 951). Water temperature is 59°, a touch warmer than usual for July. The light SSE breeze keeps it clean. That arvo, the swell drops to 4ft but the period stretches to 18 seconds and combined energy jumps to 1110. Cross-off wind makes it beautiful.
Sunday the 12th is your all-round standout. Morning: 5ft from the WSW, 16-second period, energy at 1136, light cross-off breeze. Afternoon: glassy, no wind, 5ft, 15 seconds. That’s the cleanest window of the whole outlook.
Monday the 13th is a write-off. Strong cross-onshore winds ruin the smaller 3ft swell. Tuesday the 14th: short period 8-second swell from the WNW, 6ft in the morning but cross-on and rippled. Not recommended.
Wednesday the 15th gets heavy but messy. Morning: 6ft, 16-second period (combined energy 2725), onshore. Afternoon: big 10ft from the west, 16-second period, combined energy 4161. Strong but blown out. Experts only if anyone’s game. Thursday the 16th: 8ft dropping to 7ft, all cross-shore with 15-second groundswell, lumpy and choppy. Kite surfing looks more fun than paddle.
Friday the 17th morning restores order. 6ft, 14-second period, combined energy 1106, glassy from the SSE. That’s a good one. Saturday the 18th morning is clean with 6ft and cross-off winds. Saturday arvo: 5ft with moderate offshore from the SE—clean again.
Now, Sunday July 19th morning is a true standout for experienced folks. Clear, glassy, 6ft from the WSW, 16-second period (combined energy 1368). That’ll be smooth, powerful, and lined up.
Second week drops in size but stays clean at times. Monday the 20th: 3ft morning, clean. Tuesday the 21st: glassy 2ft from the west with a massive 19-second period. You’ll be waiting but the quality is there for a longboard. Wednesday the 22nd: 3ft and glassy. Thursday the 23rd: 3ft and clean in the morning. Friday the 24th picks up to 7ft to 8ft from the west, but the period drops to 12 seconds and winds are cross-shore/ cross-on. Marginal.
Saturday the 25th morning has a clean 4ft from the WSW, 18-second period (combined energy 1282)—a nice clean note to end on. Sunday the 26th fades back to average.
So the real standouts? Saturday morning the 11th through Sunday arvo the 12th, and Sunday morning the 19th for the experienced crew.
Rusty.
