Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at the only spot that's on the cards for this forecast period.

Right off the bat, I gotta be straight with you. This is a tough one. We're looking at a 16-day window, but there's a solid gap of a few days at the start, and honestly, the whole run is pretty bleak. The only option the charts are giving us is Reef la Maddalenetta, a reef break that rarely breaks and is for intermediate surfers. The first proper surf of any kind doesn't show up until Thursday morning, the 9th of July.

So, let's get into it. The water is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, sitting at 77°F.

Thursday morning, the 9th of July, we've got a tiny 2ft swell from the W with a period of 5 seconds and a weak combined energy of only 20. The wind is a cross-shore from the S at 12 mph, making for a messy, choppy surface. It's not looking good. The afternoon isn't any better, with a cross-onshore wind making it fairly choppy.

Friday the 10th sees the swell drop even more. Morning has a 2ft W swell with a period of 5 seconds, and the energy is just a whisper at 11. The wind is a light cross-offshore, so the surface is clean, but there's just no power in the water. The afternoon is even smaller, with a 0.7ft wave and only 3 energy.

The weekend and the start of the next week are pretty much flat. Saturday the 11th, Sunday the 12th, and Monday the 13th have next to nothing. The swell is either zero or so tiny it's not worth paddling out for. On Sunday the 12th, the wind picks up to 16 mph from the NNW, creating a cross-shore chop, so even the tiny 0.7ft swell is a mess.

Things don't get any better. From Tuesday the 14th through to the middle of the week, we're looking at flat spells, with the occasional 0.3ft to 0.7ft blip of swell that's just a non-starter. The wind is often onshore or cross-onshore, making it even worse.

The 17th of July, Friday, brings a tiny pulse of 1ft swell from the WNW with a period of 7 seconds and a combined energy of 19. Still, the wind is cross-onshore, so it's choppy. Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th are back to small, onshore slop with 0.3ft to 0.7ft waves.

There's one moment that stands out, but it's a long way off. On Thursday the 23rd of July, the morning is forecast to have a 1ft swell from the NW with a period of 6 seconds and a combined energy of 16. The wind is glassy—a light NNW breeze at 3 mph. That's the only time we see a "glassy" condition. The swell is tiny, but if it's clean, a longboard might get a few. But don't get your hopes up; it's nearly two weeks away and the whole pattern is so weak.

For the rest of the run, it's a whole lot of nothing. Small, weak, and often windy. Honestly, for a reef that rarely breaks, this forecast is a big fat zero. There's simply nothing on offer for the foreseeable future. The setup looks more interesting for a kite surfer than a paddle surfer, if you ask me, but even then, the swell is pathetic.

Rusty out.
