The Lowdown
G'day, it's Rusty here. Look, I'm gonna be straight with you—this is a tough one. The next few weeks are looking pretty flat and uninspiring for a wave. We’ve got a long stretch ahead with hardly anything worth getting wet for.
Starting from this Saturday the 5th, the whole week is a write-off. We're looking at tiny, weak dribbles with combined energy readings barely hitting double digits—mostly in the single digits—with short, choppy periods and a 0.7ft to 2ft range. The wind is all over the shop, mostly onshore or cross-onshore, which means messy, bumpy conditions. Even the glassy mornings on the 8th and 11th don't save it because there's just no swell to work with.
We get a little more into the second week, but it's still a bit of a letdown. From around the 16th of September, there's a slight pulse of energy, with the combined energy readings lifting to the 50s, 70s, and even 89 later in the week, but that’s still moderate energy at best. The swell height sits around 2ft to 3ft, coming from the east with a 6 to 7-second period. The wind, though—mostly light onshore or cross-onshore—still keeps it from being clean, and the break (Punta Prima) is exposed and inconsistent. It's just not enough to get excited about.
Honestly, there's no standout session here. The whole 16-day window offers nothing that I'd call a worthwhile surf. This is one of those blank runs where the area just isn't cooperating. Keep an eye on things because forecasts can change, but for now, the board stays in the shed.
Rusty.
