Table - best surf conditions forecast for El Sardinero - Primera over the next 16 days.
Alright, this is Rusty. Let's have a look at what's coming up for El Sardinero - Primera.
Honestly, the next couple of weeks are looking pretty flat and weak. We’ve got a long stretch of tiny, weak waves and a lot of "poor surf conditions" in the forecast. The water temperature is sitting at 72°F with a +5°F anomaly, which is much warmer than usual for this time of year – a bit of a tropical feel in the water.
The first real surfable day doesn't show up until around the 21st of July. The morning of the 21st will see a bump in the swell to 4ft from the NW, but the period is a short 8 seconds, so it won't be doing much. The combined energy is moderate (197). By the afternoon, the swell jumps to 8ft, but it's still short-period (9 seconds) and the wind goes cross-on from the N. The energy is stronger (869), but it’s not a clean setup for a paddle.
The standout day, and the only day I’d really get excited about, is the morning of the 22nd of July. We’ve got a solid 7ft NW swell with a short 8-second period, but look at the wind – it's glassy, calm from the N. That means clean, smooth conditions. The combined energy here is 635 (strong), and with the size over 8ft, this is for experienced surfers only. The wave comment says "expect good surf conditions," which is a rare bright spot. This is a proper window of opportunity if you can handle the size.
After that, the 23rd of July morning drops back to a tiny 3ft from the NNW with glassy conditions, but it's too small to get excited about. The afternoon turns choppy again.
So, to keep it simple: you’ve got a long wait with almost nothing on offer until the 22nd of July morning. That’s your one shot at decent waves, and it’s a big one if you’re an expert. Other than that, the next two weeks are a write-off.
Rusty.
