Table - best surf conditions forecast for El Sardinero - Segunda over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here again, but this time in feet and miles. Let’s break down El Sardinero.
We’ve got a long dry spell to start. From Sunday the 12th through Monday the 20th, it’s practically flat. The wave energy is low, barely registering on the scale, and the wind is messy. Nothing worth paddling out for.
The first real hope shows up Tuesday afternoon the 21st of July. Swell jumps to about 8ft from the NW, with a period around 9 seconds. The energy reading is a strong 742. The wind is fresh offshore from the SW, so the face will be clean. That’s a big wave for this spot – definitely expert-only territory on the beach and rocks. Crowds might be a factor.
The standout session is Wednesday morning the 22nd of July. Swell drops to a still-chunky 5ft from the NW, with that 9-second pulse. Energy is solid at 405. A light offshore breeze from the WNW will keep it glassy and organized. That’s the best call of the whole 16 days. The afternoon gets a stronger NW wind, so it’ll roughen up. Go early.
By Thursday the 23rd, we’re down to 3ft and the wind goes cross-shore. After that, it peters out fast. Friday the 24th and into the weekend we’re back to small, weak waves. The water’s about average for July, nothing weird.
Bottom line: Wednesday morning the 22nd is the one to aim for. Tuesday afternoon is a big wave option for experts only. The rest is a long wait.
Rusty.
