Table - best surf conditions forecast for Perranporth over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here again. Let’s talk about what’s on the table for the next couple of weeks.
First thing you need to know: it’s going to be a lean few days. The surf outlook for this area is pretty flat and messy for a long stretch, starting now and running through most of the period. The combined swell energy is low, mostly under 100—means the ocean is just taking a nap.
The first real chance to get wet doesn’t come until Friday, July 10th. Perranporth will see a small WNW groundswell around 3ft, with a 9-second period and moderate energy (136). A light cross-offshore breeze from the ENE will keep the surface clean. The water is about 62°F, which is a touch warmer than average for July—nice. It’s not a big day, but it’s your best early option. Crowds are possible. Saturday the 11th stays small but turns offshore from the East in the afternoon with a short-period 3ft swell from the North. Surfable, but nothing spectacular.
After that, it really goes quiet. From Sunday, July 12th, right through to Friday, July 24th, we’ve got a long gap of poor surf. Swell stays tiny—often 1-2ft or less—and winds turn onshore or cross-onshore from the NW and NNW, making things lumpy and choppy. Wave energy drops into the 20-80 range. A few clean moments pop up, but without any swell to back them, they’re just flat and clean.
Perranporth can be fairly consistent, but this is one of those periods where the ocean just isn’t cooperating. It won’t stay like this forever—forecasts can shift—but right now, it’s a waiting game.
Rusty.
