Table - best surf conditions forecast for Perranporth over the next 16 days.
Hey, Rusty here. Let's talk about what's happening at Perranporth over the next couple of weeks.
To be honest, it’s a tough outlook. There’s a long stretch of nothing much at all. The first week is a total loss with small, weak, and messy conditions. The water’s at 61°F, which is about normal for this time of year, but you won’t be feeling it because you won’t be in the water.
We don’t get a sniff of anything until Friday the 10th of July. The morning will have a clean, small 3ft swell from the west with a 9-second period, and the wave energy is a modest 138. The wind is light and cross-off from the east-northeast, so it will look tidy. It’s surfable, but very ordinary, and that theme continues into the afternoon as the swell drops to 3ft.
Saturday the 11th starts similar, with 2ft from the west and a 10-second period, and a clean cross-off breeze. The energy is only 113, so don’t expect much grunt. The afternoon gets worse, with the wind going cross-shore and the swell switching to a short 6-second period from the north – small and messy.
From Sunday the 12th all the way through to Wednesday the 22nd of July, we are looking at tiny scraps. Swell heights barely register, usually under 2ft, with very low wave energy readings, often in the teens and twenties. The wind is either howling offshore from the east at 25 mph – clean but impossible to paddle into – or it’s onshore and bumpy. There is nothing good on offer.
The tail end of the outlook, Tuesday the 21st and Wednesday the 22nd, shows a tiny bump to 2ft, but the period is a dreadful 4 to 5 seconds – pure windswell junk – and the wind is onshore. It’s poor. Honestly, for Perranporth right now, save the gas and leave the board at home.
Rusty.
