Table - best surf conditions forecast for Merewether - Ladies over the next 16 days.
Hey, Rusty again. Let’s run through it in feet and knots for the imperial crew.
Right off the bat, Merewether - Ladies is in a flat spell. Nothing worth paddling for until we hit the middle of the month. The first few days are tiny, weak, and have no energy.
The one to circle hard is the morning of Sunday 19 July. That’s the highlight. A clean 8ft swell from the ESE with an 11-second period, combined energy of 1220, and a light north breeze making it glassy. This is proper, powerful groundswell and it’s in the expert range – big, clean, and organised. The crowd factor is *sometimes* present, so expect a few others who’ve done their homework.
Right after that, Tuesday 21 July morning is another big one. A 7ft ESE swell with a really long 12-second period, combined energy of 1446. The wind is a light offshore from the west, cross-off, and clean. That’s a lot of energy for a reef setup – expect long, lined-up sets with real punch. Again, more of an experienced surfer’s session.
The weeks before that are mostly a bust. From now (12 July) to the 16th, it’s all tiny or onshore junk. The morning of 17 July shows a 7ft ESE swell with a clean cross-off wind, but it’s not a top-tier session – just surfable.
22 July morning drops back to a 5ft ESE swell with a moderate cross-shore wind that’ll put a bit of chop on the face. Not the best.
23 July morning is glassy again with a 5ft ESE swell and a 10-second period, combined energy of 613. Clean, user-friendly, and worth a look if you missed the bigger days.
The tail end of the forecast, from 24 July onward, fades into smaller, cleaner waves under 4ft. It’s rideable but nothing to rearrange your schedule for.
Bottom line: if you can, go for that Sunday 19 or Tuesday 21 session. That’s the real deal. The rest is a waiting game.
