The Lowdown
Hey folks, Rusty here. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this whole 16-day run for Luquillo - La Pared is a total dud. The combined swell energy is weak most of the time – numbers like 35 to 113, occasionally hitting 289, but that’s still just moderate at best. And every session is written off as “poor surf conditions.” Winds are mostly onshore or cross-shore, kicking up chop, and the swell heights barely reach 2ft to 3ft. The water temp is 86°F, about average for this time of year. There’s one slightly cleaner moment on Sunday afternoon, September 6th, with a gentle offshore breeze and swells around 3ft from the east-northeast, but it’s nothing to write home about. For any surfer wanting something real, you’re out of luck. The break is usually consistent, so it’s just a dead spell. Don’t plan a session – this window is a wash. Maybe next time.
Rusty.
