The Lowdown
Alright, this is Rusty. Let's look at the stretch ahead for Guibia.
To be straight with you, this 16-day window is a tough one. There are long gaps where the surf just isn't worth paddling out for. From now, Sunday the 23rd of August, right through until Saturday the 29th, it's mostly poor surf conditions and the scorecards are blank. You'd be fighting onshore breezes and small, weak swell. The combined swell energy is often well under 100 (56), and that's for knee-high, choppy junk. You'd be better off staying on the sand.
The pattern starts to shift a little around Sunday the 30th of August. The morning shows a little light with a clean session as a light cross-offshore breeze from the NE sets up. The swell is still pretty ordinary at 4ft from the ESE, with a short period of 7 seconds and combined energy at 146 (moderate). It's surfable but very ordinary.
After that, it drops off again. That same dull pattern of cross-on or onshore wind and dwindling swell from the SE drags on through the first few days of September. The first week of September is basically a write-off.
Now, the one true standout I can see that has a bit of promise for the dedicated surfer is the Monday morning of the 7th of September. We see a jump in the swell: 4.6ft from the ESE, with a period bumping up to 8 seconds. The combined energy shoots up to 368 (moderate to strong). The wind is a light cross-shore from the ENE, which would keep things fairly tidy. The catch is it's still listed as "marginal surf forecast or questionable tide conditions," so it's not a slam dunk, but it's the most energy we see on offer. Be aware that Guibia is an exposed reef, so when the swell gets a bit of muscle, it can handle it, but with a period of only 8 seconds, it won't be a super clean groundswell. Still, that Monday morning is the best chance for a wave if you're willing to gamble on the tide.
Remember, Guibia is inconsistent anyway, so a blank run like this isn't entirely out of the ordinary. Stay hopeful, forecasts can change.
