Table - best surf conditions forecast for La Izquierda over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s break down this forecast for La Izquierda in feet and miles per hour, just like you'd hear it down at the beach. It’s a lean stretch ahead, with only a few moments worth chasing. We’re looking at the period from Saturday, July 11th through Sunday, July 26th, but there are long, flat spells scattered throughout.
Starting off on Saturday the 11th, it's dead. You’ve got a 1ft NW swell, weak energy, and an onshore breeze. Not worth waxing up.
Sunday the 12th morning gives a little bump: a 2ft NNW swell with an 8-second period, and glassy conditions thanks to light SSE wind at 3 mph. The energy is still weak, and the waves are described as "very ordinary." You could paddle out, but you won’t be stoked.
Monday the 13th looks similar – 2ft swells from the NNW and N, short period, with some glassy and cross-off windows. Energy is still low. Nothing to get excited about.
From Tuesday the 14th through Friday the 17th morning, it’s mostly flat. We're talking tiny 0.7ft to 1ft swells, energy readings in the basement, and poor conditions. Then Friday the 17th afternoon shows a pulse: a 3ft NE swell with a 7-second period and energy jumping to 112. With cross-off wind, it’s clean but still "very ordinary."
Now, here’s the best of a weak bunch. Saturday the 18th morning: a 4ft NE swell, 8-second period, energy at 142, and glassy wind. For a reef break that likes northwesterly swell, this small NE pulse might offer a few clean, fun lines. The forecast calls it "very ordinary," but the glassy conditions are a big plus. That's your standout window for the first week, but it’s not a classic.
Then it fades again Sunday the 19th through Tuesday the 21st – tiny waves, weak energy, poor.
The real standout comes on Wednesday the 22nd afternoon. A 4ft NE swell rolls in with a longer 10-second period, and energy hits 299 – that’s moderate wave energy, the highest of the whole forecast. Light cross-off wind at 6 mph makes for clean conditions, and the forecast actually says "expect good surf conditions." This is the one to aim for. It’s an advanced break and it’s "often" crowded, so expect company. That longer period groundswell will wrap around nicely on the reef.
Thursday the 23rd morning holds a 3ft NE swell with decent energy (135), but nothing special. After that, it’s flat again from Thursday afternoon all the way through to Sunday the 26th – just tiny dribbles with single-digit energy.
Bottom line: a lot of waiting for very little. The best session is Wednesday the 22nd afternoon. Saturday the 18th morning is a back-up if you’re really itching. Water temp is around 72°F, pretty normal for this time of year.
