Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, ol’ Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s shaping up.
Honestly, mate, for the next couple of weeks it’s a pretty flat and frustrating run for La Izquierda. The swell stays tiny across the whole 16-day window, with hardly a wave worth paddling for. The forecast is packed with poor surf conditions day after day, so you’re not missing much if you leave the board in the shed.
The first possible day you’d even bother looking is over a week away, on Wednesday morning, 15th July. For a quick moment, we get a 2ft swell out of the NE, period around 6 seconds, with total wave energy only at (54). The wind is glassy, which is nice, but it’s still just a marginal wave — described as surfable but very ordinary. Hardly a highlight, but it’s the least bad of the whole run.
Apart from that little blip, the rest of the 16 days is really just ankle-biters. Swells are mostly around 0.6ft to 1ft, with periods often under 8 seconds — short-period, weak stuff. Winds do turn offshore or glassy on a few afternoons, especially around 11th to 14th July and again on the 16th and 17th, but with so little swell it’s really just a clean flat ocean.
The water temperature sits at 73°F with a slight anomaly of 0.9°F, nothing wild there — about what you’d expect this time of year.
So, to be straight with you: there are no standouts here. No real surf on offer. It’s one of those quiet spells where the ocean just goes to sleep. If you have to get wet, wait for that Wednesday 15th morning — but don’t expect much.
That’s it from me.
