Punta Blanca - k16 Surf Forecast and Surf Report

Alright, let's take a look at what's cookin' at Punta Blanca - k16. We're gonna be chomping at the bit for a few days, that's for sure. This spot's a consistent reef break that loves a west swell, but the start of the period is a bit of a snooze.

Sunday the 13th and Monday the 14th are looking pretty marginal, just tiny, weak waves and winds that aren't helping. Tuesday morning the 15th, we get a little bump: 2ft from the NNW, with a 11-second period and glassy, clean conditions. The water's a warm 76°, pretty much what you'd expect for this time of year. That session is more of a log or funboard cruiser, though. The combined energy is only 154, so not much push behind it.

We've got a stretch of small, poor waves until things start to shape up on Friday, the 18th of September. The morning shows 5ft from the NNE with a 9-second period and clean, cross-off winds. The energy jumps to 496, getting into that fun zone.

Saturday the 19th is similar, with 5ft from the north and clean morning conditions.

But the real standout, the one to mark on your calendar, is Tuesday the 22nd of September. We're looking at a clean 3ft from the NNW, but the period is a solid 14 seconds. That's proper groundswell, and for a reef break, that's going to mean some nice, lined-up, powerful waves. The combined energy hits 551. This spot can get crowded and it's exposed to the west, which matches up perfectly with that long-period NNW swell. This is the one to chase. It's over a week out, so the forecast could shift, but the signs are good.

After that, things get a little sloppy, but we get another small window on the 25th with a 2ft, 16-second period from the NW. Super long period, so it'll be clean and glassy, just not a lot of size. Saturday the 26th morning has 3ft with a 13-second period and glassy conditions. A solid, quiet morning session.

The end of the month looks small again. The clear winner here is the 22nd. Don't miss it.
