Alright, Rusty here, checkin' in from the UK.
Well, I gotta be straight with you, the next couple of weeks are lookin' pretty grim for a paddle. We've got a long stretch of flat, dead, or just plain messy conditions ahead. Honestly, the first proper chance of anything even surfable doesn't roll around until Monday the 13th of July, so there’s a solid week of nothin’ to report before that.
Let’s start with Kennack Sands. The first few days are just a write-off with weak, tiny swell; we're talkin' nothing more than 0.3 ft of little leftover energy. The water is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year at 63.5°, but that's small comfort.
We eventually see something build starting Monday the 13th. A 4.6 ft swell from the east shows up in the morning, with a moderate energy reading (267), but the wind is a cross-onshore breeze at 16 mph, so it's gonna be choppy and messy. Tuesday the 14th looks like the best of a bad lot. We get a 5.2 ft east swell early, which carries strong energy (406), but again that onshore wind is gonna churn it up. The afternoon cleans up a touch as the wind swings offshore from the north at 6 mph, giving us some clean 3.6 ft surf, but the score is still just "surfable but very ordinary". It's a sheltered little cove here, so it takes a specific angle to work, and the east swell isn't its optimum from the SSW.
Given that the main bump of energy comes with crummy wind, and the only clean window is marginal, there's no standout session here. This setup, with onshore wind and a beach break, could actually be more interesting for the kite crew than the paddle crew.
That's all there is to say on this one, I'm afraid. Keep an eye on it though; forecasts can change.
