The Lowdown

Alright, Rusty here, and I gotta be straight with you. This is a tough one to write. We're looking at the Toronto Breaks, and the truth is, the ocean is basically flat for the entire 16-day forecast window. There's nothing on offer. The combined swell energy is a big fat zero (0) every single day, which means we've got a dead calm lake.

For the first week, from the 3rd of August right through the 9th, there's not a single wave to ride. The lake is a sheet of glass for the most part. We see some glassy mornings on the 6th and the 13th that would be perfect for a paddle board, but without any swell, it's just a flat lake. The 10th and 11th even have some clean offshore winds from the WNW and N, but with no swell energy, it's like having a perfect runway with no plane.

The second week is more of the same, from the 12th of August right through the 18th. We get some more glassy conditions on the 13th, and even a few afternoons with clean offshore breezes, but the combined energy stays at a zero (0). It's a total blank run, which is pretty normal for this area. There's nothing for a surfer to get excited about, and honestly, this setup looks more interesting for a kite surfer than anyone with a paddle. The water temp is also a very unusual 63°F, which is 8° colder than normal for this time of year, so even a swim is going to be a shock.

Sorry, folks, but sometimes you get a dry spell. The forecast can always change, but right now, there's nothing to chase.

Rusty.
